<p style="margin-left:.3in;margin-right:.25in;line-height:150%;" align="left"><em><span style="font-size:small;"><span style="font-style:normal;"> The topic of my altered book is magic, but in a way that is more realistically believable than fairy tales and Harry Potter. The magic in these books is presented in a more scientific way than your run of the mill fantasy magic, which makes me feel a strong connection. I personally really love science, biology and chemistry specifically, and I also really like fantasy in the novels I read. 'The Speech' is a language that everyone and everything with an understanding and knowledge of wizardry can speak in this novel, and I really enjoy the connection between things that we don't see as sentient beings and ourselves and even beings from other universes. This novel could reflect pieces of me, I've always wondered about life in places other than on earth. </span></span></em></p>
<p style="margin-left:.3in;margin-right:.25in;line-height:150%;" align="left"><em><span style="font-size:small;"><span style="font-style:normal;"> When I was in elementary school I wished I could do magic, my first book dealing with 'real' magic was Harry Potter, and then the Wizard books came along and changed the way I felt about magic. I also used to feel peaceful and wasn't lonely as long as there was life around, so I'd go on walks and sit around outside without being bored. These books also deal with things that are darker and more serious than magic and aliens. There is the constant ongoing battle of the young wizards and The Lone Power, which is pretty much death in a form that only wizards can communicate with. I really enjoyed that even though this book was for younger teenagers, the author didn't make it all sparkles and cotton candy.</span></span></em></p>
<p style="margin-left:.3in;margin-right:.25in;line-height:150%;" align="left"><em><span style="font-size:small;"><span style="font-style:normal;"> I chose this book because of all the ones I felt I could alter, this is the one I remembered best. This book is also from one of my favorite series, and I think that if I let it take over this project, I could create something very interesting and worthwhile. I'd like to focus on the aspect of everything being able to communicate, including plants, animals, and machines. I feel that alone is something magical that we as humans can't completely prove to be false through science. Communication as a focus might be something slightly different than what an average person would choose when altering this novel, while approaching it through magic would definitely be a cliché. If I came at this project from the opposite direction I'd probably alter my book to be more about wizards and non-wizards lacking in the ability to properly communicate. This could connect to me and my inability to fully express myself through words, as in the novel The Speech is only used by wizards and those who know of wizards.</span></span></em></p>
<p style="margin-left:.3in;margin-right:.25in;line-height:150%;" align="left"><em><span style="font-size:small;"><span style="font-style:normal;"> For the altering of the book, I'd like to carve out the two main characters and use passages from the book as speech bubbles. I would use thin wire to hang the passages above the respective character, shaping the female main role's wire into the shape of a tree as she's more in tune with nature, and the male main role's wire into the shape of something more mechanical, as he deals with electronic life. I might shape the passages to look like galaxies and stamp out small holes so that when light hits them they look like stars.</span></span></em></p>
<p style="margin-left:.3in;margin-right:.25in;line-height:150%;" align="left"><em><span style="font-size:small;"><span style="font-style:normal;"> I think that I'd focus on the subject of communication as my main goal of this Altered Book Project. Research-wise, I'd need to look up book carving techniques and what kinds of wiring would work best for displaying paper. I would also like to re-read parts of the story, and I would need to find specific quotes from the text that I felt presented my subject the best. The tools I would need would be an X-acto knife, rubber cement, wire, wire cutters, and possibly paint and something to scoop the paper out of my main character cutouts.</span></span></em></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span>            </span>O primeiro Tarantino é difícil de esquecer. Cru, extremamente violento, com uma rajada de diálogos que se cortam como num tiroteio, Cães de Aluguel (Reservoir Dogs) se tornou um jovem clássico. São inúmeras as qualidades para se apontar na primeira obra datada de 1992 do, hoje, consagrado e cult diretor. A trama do filme é sobre um assalto mal sucedido a uma joalheria. E as conseqüências que levam os criminosos, que só se conheceram no dia do golpe e que não sabem um o nome do outro (se chamam por cores, como Mr.Green ou Mr.Black), a buscarem quem entre eles é um informante da polícia. Nesse mar de intriga, algumas seqüências podem ser assinaladas como fundamentais e imprescindíveis para a consolidação da obra. Desse modo, escolherei três cenas que acredito serem memoráveis nessa película.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span>            </span>Dificilmente hoje, a apresentação dos personagens seria notada ou tida como especial. Cada criminoso é encarado pelo vídeo. Os gângsters descendo a rua, enquanto a câmera mantém uma imagem num quase em 2D. A cena remete não só a uma apresentação básica de personagens de muitos dos atuais videogames de luta, mas também aos faroestes em que os pistoleiros vão de encontro com seus destinos. <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;margin:0;"><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span>            </span>A outra cena é a cena que dá início ao filme, quando os bandidos estão tomando café e fazendo analogias sobre dar ou não gorjeta e sobre o real significado da música Like a Virgin, da Madonna. Diálogos memoráveis, todos falando ao mesmo tempo, no melhor clima de conversa de boteco. Mas a melhor seqüência é a do interrogatório. Poderia comentar ela, mas após assistir a uma suecada (ou fan clone), resolvo deixar aqui para vocês assistirem. O melhor fica pela dança sádica do interrogador.</span></p>

</span></span><span style="color:#003300;"><span style="color:#008000;">Dalla testimonianza dei frequentatori, abitudinari e non, e di tutti coloro che vogliono esprimersi riguardo alla reale utilità e fattività dei mondi virtuali, mi sarà possibile rilevare l'attuale situazione di tali mondi, la loro evoluzione temporale e (pur senza avere le pretese di emulare grandi futurologi del calibro di Vito Di Bari) il loro possibile avvenire nell'era post Web 2.0. </span></span></p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><span style="color:#003300;"><span style="color:#008000;">L'analisi comparativa tra gli attuali metaversi funzionanti e la constatazione del fallimento di quelli creati in passato mi consentirà di comprendere appieno se tale fenomeno sia da considerarsi in fase evolutiva e stia aprendo nuovi orizzonti di comunicazione o se, al contrario, si prospetti una drastica involuzione, riducendosi ad un universo di mendaci incontri tra alter ego in cerca di emozioni sessuali o guadagni rapidi.</span></span></p>

<p>- <em>dm1.pdf</em> : c'est l'énoncé des DM1 et DM2, à la suite, donnés en 1S ; on retrouve cet énoncé avec son corrigé à la fin du papier <em>Second-degre.pdf</em>.</p>
<p>- <em>dm4-1s2.pdf</em> : le titre est explicite ; le corrigé suivra.</p>
<p>- <em>droite-secondes.pdf</em> : un cours à peu près complet (manquent les représentations paramétriques) sur les équations de droites dans le plan ; le niveau est celui de la Seconde ; il serait bon que les élèves de 1S le regardent : ce sont des techniques basiques à connaître, avec des exemples traités.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Pour la première catégorie, il existe l'incontournable <a href="http://www.blender.org/" target="_blank">Blender</a> de qualité professionnel. Pour le modelage de paysage, il y a la version 5 de <a href="http://www.clubic.com/telecharger-fiche38730-bryce.html" target="_blank">Bryce</a> qui, elle, est gratuite (pour activer le logiciel, il faut s'enregistrer sur cette <a href="http://www.daz3d.com/i/software/bryce/breg55?" target="_blank">page</a>). Pour avoir l'équivalent de Poser pour la modélisation de personnages ou de bestioles, il existe <a href="http://www.daz3d.com/i/software/studio?_m=d" target="_blank">Daz studio</a> ou <a href="http://www.01net.com/telecharger/windows/Multimedia/animation_2d_et_3d/fiches/42657.html">Make Human</a>. Pour les décors, il existe <a href="http://www.caligari.com/Products/trueSpace/tS75/brochure/intro.asp?Cate=BIntro" target="_blank">True Space</a> qui, je le souligne, a été rendu gratuit grâce à Microsoft suite au rachat par celui ci, de la société éditrice ; Caligari. A noter qu'il existe aussi pour l'animation 3D, le logiciel <a href="http://www.clubic.com/telecharger-fiche49214-anim8or.html" target="_blank">Anim8or</a>.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On my way to uni on Wednesday I decided that maybe it would be a good idea to formulate my ideas and project aims and objectives as best I could. I started writing notes most of the journey and, as it had been about a week since I had fully concentrated on summing up my project in such a way, I think it helped to make it more structured in my head. I was able to sum up the links a bit better than before. This is what I came up with in relation to the two key words 'Shapes' and 'Space' being components of a possible working title:</p>
<p><strong>The first two words are key as they sum up the elements that the areas of research I will be looking at are anchored by. In other words you can always relate the subject areas, I am interested in, back to one of these words if not both.</strong></p>
<p><strong>We usually think of shapes as pre-defined areas of outlined space that have specific names. We'll grow up knowing that these named shapes have properties that allow the shapes to be classed within certain gropus of shapes too. So a square is made of of 4 right angles at each corner and 4 sides. A triangle with three sides and of various angles and combinations of these.</strong></p>
<p><strong>But can a shape alway be defined? And should it be defined? And how about those shapes which have properties or characteristics that are overlooked? And which characteristics should we look more closely at because they've been overlooked in the past?</strong></p>
<p><strong>The second key word is space. My use of the word implies many senses of space including the mathematical and the scientific (these I believe overlap in some sense), as well as the physical, perceptual and conceptual. I cannot restrict my meaning at this point. I have no reason to restrict until I have conducted more research and found a reason to do so.<br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>What about white space? Is it real? Does it mean something to everyone? What is it's role? Is it intentional? Should it be identified in more places?</strong></p>
<p><strong>An area of study that connects to this idea of space around shapes (and here I wonder - is this space not then a shape too?) is that of Geometry. These shapes are formed from vertices (easier to think of as dots in an invisible grid of any size). These vertices may then be connected with a line from one to another. these lines will be joint in such a way to form a shape. Various shapes are then placed together to form a larger formation. They could arguably be described as a system of shapes. This system could be called a pattern. these patterns can then become quite complex and due to their placement, repetition and possibly the ability to tesselate them - they can be endless and seem to go on for infinity.</strong></p>
<p><strong>One of my biggest aims in my project is to look into the history of Geometry - how it was developed and how it has been used over the centuries (more specifically in art work).</strong></p>
<p><strong>Then there is the branching off of Geometry in nature.  I think this is a highly important and interesting subject to delve into. Not only because it entails many mysteries and brings into question the secrets of the Universe. But also because there is a tie with religion and sprirituality which is something that I can relate to on a personal level.  Believing in God means that when I see the beauty of nature and proofs of perfection in nature (such as the way the body works and the structures and symmetry in plants and flowers to name a couple) I link it to Divine Creation. This is another aspect I would like to look into further. Especially as belief in this isn't restricted to just one religion.</strong></p>
<p>Geometry allows for the representation of space in 2d, 3d and even 4d and beyond:</p>

It is a projection of a four-dimensional object onto two dimensions, just as the cube before it is a projection from three-dimensional space to the two-dimensional flat surface of the paper. </em></p>

Coxeter is famous for his work on regular polytopes. When they involve coordinates made of complex numbers they are called complex polytopes. </em></div>

<p><strong>These main topics then branch off into other areas but are still anchored by the main theme of shapes, space and I guess now geometry too.  By always having my main question along the lines of ' the place of geometry in the world around us' I will have something to refer back to. Is that what I am looking at? Am I any closer to finding the answer? Am I looking into something that is relevant or have a veered off too far down a small cobbled street?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Outcomes for project: My background has been predominantly in expressing some form of communication and his has been mostly interactive. I would like to continue this by producing work that compels the user/viewer to become involved with it. I believe that the most interactively creative works are those that captivate the viewer and involve them within a process. This can be in many forms such as when using sensors to trigger some kind of behaviour or change in the work (lighting, sounds etc). This could be on an abstract level too where triggering thoughts and movements in people and influencing these is enough of a form of interaction. Only that this can be more difficult to measure.<br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>However, my interpretation of an interactive work would be using multimedia as a possible option. My work has always been either viewable of a computer screen (short video clips), graphics, websites. Or viewable on some form of small physical and traditional media such as paper or canvas. I would really like to create some sort of installation to take my experience and work to the next level or beyond for this project. This installation would be my blank slate. Possibly like a box or container that allows a person to fully submerge themselves within it - literally or mentally. The key is for it to be thought provoking. I would want the person to question their surroundings, the purpose of the installation and investigate it too. Possibly manipulate their thoughts  by pre-determining the factors  the could influence their senses and perceptions related to the space around them. </strong></p>
<p>And that is the end of my notes from my journey to Uni. Yes I am one of those people who can write loads of notes whilst travelling on the tube/bus/camel :)</p>
<p>We had a sort of informal feedback session after one of the Critical Framework lecture where we were required to write in one sentence what our project was about. I knew it would be a bit crazy to even attempt this so I decided to use the key words to form almost a sentence. I came up with 'Shapes and space - the place of these and geometry in the world around us' using my notes from the journey in. It could be the closest I've got to a working title yet so I just let that be discussed in the group.</p>
<p>After some discussion with Andy (course leader) and some feedback and questions from fellow students it would seem that perhaps I should narrow my field of research down a tad bit so that I can concentrate on finding the niche in which my project would excel. Something no one else is questioning, expressing or even addressing. Or maybe they will have but I'll be doing it from a different angle? a unique p.o.v?</p>
<p>Only time will tell.</p>

First up was "One Night in Piarco" by Ansar Sattar who won the Most Promising NewComer at the recently concluded <a href="http://animaecaribe.com/">Animae Caribe</a>. The second was "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flatworld">Flat World</a>" by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0337319/">Daniel Greaves</a> winner of numerous awards.<br />

<p>We also did a simple project based on a bouncing ball to understand the principle of timing. Exported, Imported and ReExported to create the .GIF. It isn't as smooth as the original Quicktime movie export but its here for you to get the idea.</p>

<p>Mi-ar fii placut sa avem mai mult timp pentru organizare, sa vb mai putin despre animatia 2d (este baza dar cu siguranta nu si viitorul), sa vorbim mai mult despre tot ce inseamna productia unui film, short, commercial...<br />
Prin "making of-animatie" eu am inteles ca o sa vorbim despre intreg procesul, nu sa monopolizam discutia doar pe partea de animatie, totusi trebuie sa ai ce sa animezi, nu poti prezenta un film in care personajele sa fie doar rig-ul la fel cum nu poti prezenta un film cu personaje frumos modelate dar statice. Au fost foarte putine intrebari, publicul probabil ca nu a inteles ca ne referim la tot ce inseamna productie de film animat. S-a trecut prea repede peste prezentarea workflow-ului producerii unei animatii, acolo se puteau da foarte multe detalii despre fiecare pas in parte, mai ales daca era prezent si un concept-artist, din pacate au fost 3 animatori care vorbeau acelasi lucru intre ei si incet.<br />
Oricum, felicitari Slayer pentru efort, pentru timpul avut la dispozitie a iesit foarte bine.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Sé que todo ha sido muy a saco, pero necesito que tengas algo de código real para ir trabajando en los tutoriales, en siguientes capítulos veremos el ciclo que sigue XNA al ejecutar un juego, porque métodos pasa primero y que hacer en cada uno de ellos, también veremos la sintaxis que estamos usando en el tutorial de C#</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Ahora solo nos queda una cosa para que esto funcione, cargar el grafico en el proyecto,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">En la carpeta content, click derecho, agregar nueva carpeta, la llamamos<span>  </span>Graficos, click derecho en la carpeta recién creada y agregar elemento existente, acto seguido seleccionamos el grafico, mañana subiré el que estoy usando yo al blog, puedes probar con cualquier grafico, pero ten en cuenta que has de cambiar la ruta con el nombre de tu grafico en el método Initialize de la clase NaveProtagonista:</p>
