However, on reading my blog comments the other day, I was hit in the face with this walloper:

I decided the only way to prove to my dear reader that I was a flexible, hip, dynamic, youthful and downright interesting gent was to take up his challenge.

That's right. Stillie left the house, went to HMV Clydebank and forked out his hard earned to line the pockets of the floppy haired vadge addict himself, Basshunter.  

Ok, ok, I couldn't get the LOLalbum quoted by Dee. But I'm guessing this album is pretty much the same bucket of turd that the other one is, possibly touched up for the UK market - Neddied up as they say in the business.

Note the photoshopped blue eyes of our protagonist, and the brightly coloured sticker exalting the virtues of this truly wonderful piece of composition.

We also find that the 2 CDs for £18 covering the artist's name suggests that the main selling point maybe the £2 discount you get when you buy it with a decent CD. Speaking of which...

That's right, kids, £10.99. That's what I earn in two hours work at the hotel - 2 hours of kissing arse, pouring champagne and explaining that the food would be better if the chefs could read the buttons on the microwave. Down the pan. Never to be seen again. Just so that you plebs could get a decent read in between wanking off to Miley Cyrus. Aye - we know.
 
Anyway, £11 down I trudged home to listen to every single track to prove my journalistic integrity.

With the excitement building in my loins, I ripped off the packaging to reveal the audio compact disc in all it's glory.

The first signs were good - the design of the packaging seemed upmarket, as if maybe some thought had gone into it. I was amazed to find my ears had not went on strike, despite the horrible pain and suffering I was about to cause them. However, they were arranging a Union meeting and it looked like a full picket may be on the cards.

However, my eyes vetoed the strike action when I opened the book to find some lovely images of Aylar Lie wearing very little. This review looked to be going somewhere...

Indeed, this was an accompanying book to be reckoned with. Maybe I was wrong about this "Bass Hunter" chap. Perhaps his music would be up to the same level as his choice in naked ladyfolk?

Track 1 - Now You're Go... fuck what's that... fuck's sake, why are there browsers launching everywhere? Fuck off! No! I don't want exclusive content! Fuck off! X! X! Escape! Fuck off!
Ok. Try again.
Track 1 - Now You're Gone.
Here we have the breathy, emotional voice of a heartbroken cocksucker whining his wee lungs out over a thumping bassline. Bass? On a Basshunter album? This could be a theme. The songwriting is, um, original to say the least. He really doesn't say much, though, does he? It's like "You're gone. I miss you. I wish you would phone. Lather, rinse, repeat." This track also features synthesised Christian choir voices which sound completely realistic and I totally believe he paid a choir to come and sing on his Europop rave album. Hmm.
Track 2 - All I Ever Wanted.
Here we have the breathy, emotional voice of a heartbroken cocksucker whining his wee lungs out over a thumping bassline. Hang on a minute! Where have I heard this before? Oh no, wait, this one has less singing and more squirrels getting electrocuted by a 1983 KORG keyboard. There's a wee quite bit with electric strings and the singers vaguely European tones become accentuated. Basshunter's songwriting skills are pushed to their upper limit in this effort - And Every Day, You're In My Head, I Want To Have You In My Bed. Incredible. This is shaping up to be a masterwork.
Track 3 - Please Don't Go.
Here we have... never mind. The pleading track names so far really want to push the idea that Basshunter is a sensitive, emotional young chap who's really in love with his feelings. The truth behind the bullshit is that he is a nymphomaniac manslut who probably has more diseases than the Democratic Republic of Congo. I am worried that by track 3, he has started the cover versions. Really scrappy cover versions. Really thrown together, scrappy cover versions.
Track 4 - I Miss You.
Starts out like a 1997 boyband attempt. A poor 1997 boyband attempt. Now there's a girl singing and, what sounds like, real guitars. With strings and wood and everything. Her voice is echoing and there's a deep bassline so it's pretty standard fair. Now there's a wee jumpy bit with a big loud wail from the girl. This isn't entirely destroying my faith in music, actually, but it sounds a bit like a SCOOTER b-side from 2001. Pretty poor fare, over all.
Track 5- Angel In The Night.
More real guitars with the same whiny singer from tracks 1 and 2 - he just pronounced "dancing" as "donsinga" which was hilarious. The middle part sounds like a Game Boy game after you complete it and it plays a wee tiny, uplifting piece of Musak as undecipherable Japaneses names scroll past.
Track 6 - In Her Eyes.
Another SCOOTERreject which makes me want to look out my Game Boy. More bass in this one than previous tracks. This song has one line which is repeated constantly. Might actually be ok towards 3am after a few WKDs and cheap E.
Track 7 - Love You More.
Here, Nintendo have a lawsuit on their hands.
Track 8 - Camilla.
This track, dedicated to the Duchess of Cornwall, is the story of a forbidden love told from Prince Charles point of view. I can't make out a lot of the words, but I'm pretty sure he talks about how once he's killed his beautiful, sexy wife he is gonny marry and run away with some horse he met at a Polo match in 1973.
Track 9 - Dream Girl.
Barely music.
Track 10 - I Can Walk On Water.
The story of Jesus told in pseudo Euro uber-rave format. Number 1 in Poland. In all seriousness, listen out for this tune in next season's Champions League matches. It could be a massive hit in the stands of Turkey, Macedonia, Croatia and possibly Dundee.
Track 11 - Bass Creator.
I quite like this one actually - might pass as a rave tune at a club. Oh, wait, there he is with his mad breathy voice. Song ruined.
Track 12 - RUSSIA PRIVJET.
That's a fucking awesome name for a song. Ok, so there's a siren and some deep bass. This one might actually have no singing. Fingers crossed. 42 seconds in. No singing. Oh Christ. There's a deep voiced Eurotrash guy talking and shouting "PRIVJET TO RASSA!".
RASSA. POOT YUR HANZ AP IN DE AYR!
Bonus tracks. And by "bonus" I mean "I can't fucking believe I have 4 more songs to listen to in this God awful review."
Track 13 - Bota Anna.
Now You're Gone in Swedish. Pretty enjoyable wee side show. I am going to put £10 on the next track being All I Ever Wanted in Swedish.
Track 14 - Dota.
That's me a tenner up. Although, it sounds like he's saying "Visit a Harry Bentar!" over and over. Like an advert for a shop called Harry Bentar's...
Track 15 - Now You're Gone Remix
This is good. Like, I don't want to set fire to my ears when I listen to it.
Track 16 - All I Ever Wanted Remix
Nice again. Good to end on a high. And by high, I mean in comparison to the rest of the album. In fact, my whole musical standards may have dropped down a notch or two in the past hour.
Well, to summarise, this was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. The only thing that kept me from wanting to kill myself was the fact that every song was basically the same thing and that it wasn't going to get horribly worse as each song went on.
I do, however, resent the fact that I have lined the untalented fool's pockets to the tune of £11, which I will never see again. I'll just need to get Derek Jr. to go out and shoplift some more to cover my costs.

Basshunter es el nombre artístico del músico y DJ sueco Jonas Altberg, nacido el 22 de diciembre de 1984 en Halmstad, Suecia. Se hizo famoso con sus canciones "Boten Anna" y "Vi sitter i Ventrilo och spelar DotA", en parte debido a sus referencias frikis.

Empezó a producir música en 1999 bajo el nombre artístico de Basshunter con el programa Fruity Loops, y lanzó su primer álbum, "The Bassmachine" en 2004 a través de su propia página web.

En abril de 2006 firmó su primer contrato con Warner Music, lanzando su primer sencillo, "Boten Anna". Su álbum debut con la compañía discográfica, "LOL <(^^,)>", se colocó en las listas de toda Europa, lanzándolo a la vanguardia de la música dance.

A lo largo del 2007, Basshunter estuvo trabajando en un nuevo álbum, "Now You're Gone", lanzado el 14 de julio de 2008. El single de lanzamiento de su último trabajo es el tema "All I Ever Wanted".

Proiectul dance german Baracuda, infiintat in anul 2002 a reusit sa se remarce in lumea muzicala in special prin piesele "Damn" (totodata piesa de debut lansata pe 16.12.2002, care a reusit sa urce in topul 100 german al vanzarilor pana pe pozitia 12), "I leave the world today" (al doilea single, lansat pe 28.07.2003, care a urcat in topul 100 german pana pe locul 48 ) si "Ass up" (al treilea single lansat pe 25.07.2005 ce a urcat pana pe pozitia 70). Totusi, la fel ca multe alte proiecte dance germane, Baracuda s-a bucurat de un succes mult mai mare in strainatate. De asemenea, daca ati dat click pe titlurile pieselor mentionate putin mai sus, ati dat de videoclipurile care sunt originale, captivante si orice altceva decat low-cost sau plictisitoare.

Pe 1 august 2008 a venit momentul pentru lansarea unui nou single Baracuda, dat fiind ca acestia au schimbat si casa de discuri. Astfel, s-a decis sa se promoveze un cover dupa o piesa a Larei Fabian, mai exact dupa piesa cu titlul "I will love again". Nemtii sunt in delir dupa aceasta piesa, feedback-ul din partea televiziunilor a fost si el extraordinar, iar piesa a intrat in prima saptamana in topul 100 german direct pe pozitia 34, mai sus decat au reusit Basshunter cu "All I ever wanted" (pozitia 35) si mult mai celebra Cascada cu "Because the night" (pozitia 41).

In speranta ca Baracuda vor deveni cunoscuti si in Romania si ca posturile de radio vor fi placut impresionate, va las chiar aici videoclipul piesei "I will love again", un videoclip de calitate, impresionant si cu un final (cel putin pentru mine) imprevizibil.

Came to Oslo for 5 days to shoot a little behind the scenes for Minisry of Sound. In true Ministry style its all about cars, girls and dance music. Its a good break from business development and I really like Oslo, so one could even say its a little holiday here. Have met up with some friends and some of the Norwegian film people such as Director Alex Herron and Actor Lucas Thorheim. Only downside is the fact that Oslo is fucking expensive place. For example: coffee, tea and omelette 28euros. Crazy!

Till saken. För nåt inlägg sen där jag skrev om Michaels Phelps ADHD gjorde jag mig skyldig till att utan skam och utan skuld påstå att en av mina allra största idoler -Robert Gustavsson ÄR innehavare av diagnoserna Asperger och ADHD. Inte i själva inlägget thou.. utan i ett svar på en kommentar till detsamma. Börje påpekade detta på ett vänligt sätt till mig och jag googlade för att hitta nåt slags sanning som "bevis".

Det närmaste jag kommer om att Robert G har NPF-diagnos men "bara" Aspergers är en artikel (häng med nu.. läs saaaakta) i, var det Östgötaposten? eller nåt liknande? (glömt, googla själva era latmaskar) och tydligen ska infon ha funnits på Attentions hemsida? enligt en tråd i Aspergerforumet - men det kan ju nån ha förväxlat? med Attentions forum som är skilt från hemsidan och där medlemmarna som på alla andra forum diskuterar allt möjligt utifrån sina egna "jag vet att jag hört det någonstans"-minnen och presenterar fakta? som mycket väl kan vara gissningar. Alla dessa frågetecken får ni tolka själva hahahahaha

Trollhare tog också upp detta med ryktesspridning om vem och vilka kändisar som sägs ha eller ha "kommit ut" med sin NPF-diagnos (NPF= Neuropsykiatrisk funktionsnedsättning)

Det enda jag kom fram till (först) för att få veta svaret på detta viktiga spörsmål  var att "nån borde" ringa Robert Gustavsson och fråga honom hur det ligger till med alla dessa rykten, eller fråga honom via herr Gustavssons hemsida  
Får vi fortsätta sprida ryktena om vi vill, till exempel? DET skulle jag vilja veta ;-)

Vi behöver verkligen NPF-ikoner i våra led, tycker ni inte? Basshunter gör sitt bästa (Tourette) men vi behöver Robert Gustavsson också. Det tycker jag att han förstår redan innan vi frågat om han vill bli det... :-) Jag menar, hela Gayrörelsen har ju sina? Carola är säkert lite lesbisk till exempel. Eller hmmm, om det var hennes musik som tilltalar HBTQfolket? I alla fall så kopplar man ihop henne med HBTQ, precis som Streisand. Gör man inte. Och det är ju en komplimang, eller hur?  Robban blir säkert jättestolt över att vi tycker att han hör till NPFvärlden - NPFare är väl också människor? Regnbågsmänniskor.

Fast nu *strålande konkret och mycket realistisk lösnings-smajlis* fick jag en ännu bättre idé!
Robert får helt enkelt göra den här Aspie-testen!
Då vet vi säkert.

Though judging by the girl flashing Danny they were going down well in the sexiness department too. They started off by playing One for the Radio (their latest single...) but luckily they then played some songs I knew ie. Obviously and All About You. They finished with 5 colours in her hair - a classic. That was my favourite song four years ago.

Okay now I have to talk about bands I don't feel a fondness for aka Basshunter and Same Difference and Alphabeat. Basshunter is essentially a chav who got lucky. He did do a bit of a thrust though which is always a treat. Same Difference are really really awful. And are they a covers band? Because the only songs i heard them play were by Scissor Sisters and High School Musical (Rock n Rollll!) Alphabeat were okay I guess - if you like that sort of thing, (which, actually, not even my mum likes and she bought a Shayne Ward album :|)

 

And on a different note, on the train back from Leeds we stopped at Dewsbury and who should get on but James May, presenter of popular car related show Top Gear. He got off in Huddersfield as well and went and had some drinks in a pub (all the while being filmed). We spoke to him for a little while before we realised we were going to miss our train so our conversation was sadly cut short.

Then a pretty non-descript video dawdles on to my telly, with it's flashing colours et cetera, all that stuff the kids are told they like.

It's a video I've seen before - a few times. Nothing noteworthy on first appearance.

But no, not this time. At 3.30am today I decided I was going to start writing one of these God-forsaken egowanks out of sheer bemusement.
