Amidst the conversations peppered back and forth across our table, my friends intentionally took time to inspire me to dream. They boldly illuminated areas of potential in my life that I had not previously considered carefully. They really asked me some hard questions in some unfamiliar territory. They pushed me to think beyond the immediate to what God may want to do through me and for me. Wow! God's Word is true (all the time) when it says that we should expect good things from our Father in heaven.

Matt 7:7-11
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake ? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!"

So why do we forsake dreaming the seemingly impossible? God loves us and loves to do good things for His children. He could choose to do something wonderful for us, simply because of His love for us. So why do we doubt that His plan includes something that may seem out of reach "for someone like me"?

Oh, pardon me, you are probably asking yourself what they possibly could have been inspiring me to dream about, huh??? Sorry...can't tell you...at least not right now. I know...I know....why blog about it if I can't talk about it, right? Here's why...prayer must precede action. Prayer must precede further solicitation of opinions or suggestions. I must ask Him. I must.

But I will say that sometimes we limit ourselves to our own perception and we forget to include the wisdom and experience of those closest to us. Even worse, we forget the counsel and admonition of God's Word! So...I will take these inspiring ideas and present them to the Lord, asking Him to turn those ideas into dreams held close to my heart IF He wants to turn those dreams into reality.

Do you have people in your life who inspire you to dream? Do they inspire you to prayerful dreaming? You need those friends.

To mine: you know who you are, and I thank you. Thank you for you commitment to making one another more holy. Thank you for your encouragement. And thank you for your investment in my potential. Love you.

Mamma Mia!  Here I go again!  Okay it's still running through my head and I have the urge to dance and twirl and sing through the house!  haha! 

Last night my daughter19 and I went to the movies to see Mamma Mia!  It was so fun!  Originally a broadway stage show based on songs by ABBA and now made into a movie starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnon.  Also starring were Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Amanda Seyfried.  Amanda just glowed as Sophie through the movie, beautiful girl!

We got to the theater 5 minutes before the movie started expecting no problem getting in, figuring people were mainly there to see Batman.  Parking was horrible, and as expected, we saw lines of people waiting for Batman as we entered.  We bought our ticket, walked down to our theater and as we walked in were surprised to see almost every seat was taken.  We had to end up sitting in the second row from the screen!  Who knew Mamma Mia! would be as popular as Batman?!?  Go musicals!  woo!

I found the movie delightful!  There is a wonderful mother/daughter theme to the movie and I’m really glad I got to see it with my daughter.  It was so nice to see mature women being portrayed who aren't model thin.

Yes, true.  Don't expect a deeply seriously movie, it's very lighthearted, though I did truly get misty a couple of times and totally cried during the pre-wedding scene (yes, I’m one of those).  No sex scenes, but some sex talk. And wonderful, in my book, to see mature women, who aren't model thin or perfect, having fun with their girlfriends and men!  It was hilarious to watch the actors making music videos to the ABBA songs at the end!  Um, Pierce's voice made me cringe, just a little - in spots, but I still loved it because it was real.  Meryl actually did a credible job singing through it all, who knew? 

This is a movie to see with your mom, or your older daughter.   If you're in the mood for singing, dancing and fun, go see Mamma Mia!  You won't be sorry, and you'll be singing the songs for days!  Mamma Mia!  Here I go again!

IDC Virus? Inspiration Daisy Chain, the fastest spreading virus known to mankind.

Inspiration is a daisy chain that intertwines and evolves.  What most do not know is that this very Daisy Chain of Inspiration is the oldest and fastest spreading disease of our time and of times past.

It is so silent sometimes that it spreads with out people realising, people get infected by it but are totally unaware.

Sometimes we do become aware but have no clue who we caught it from if not where.  Such is the nature of this virus.  Person by person the flowers get put into the chain, flowers of inspiration, full of colour, the virus spreads, the chain grows.

If one allows this virus to really incubate within us it starts to mutate into a disease of mass proportions.  It spreads to every cell within our body and soon we to become infectious.  Soon we find that when we smile others smile back, when we laugh from our belly up we soon find others laughing in hysterics as well, it spreads to everything we come near and everything we touch.

Humans can not escape this virus, we are all intertwined.  I may inspire your soul today but it is you that touched mine yesterday.  I may touch a soul today that will touch yours tomorrow and you will then go on to touch another an another as I will, as they will.

We are the daisy chain, each and every one of us in every moment of the day, we are intertwined working together, inspiring the world, inspiring each other.

The Shona tribe in Southern Africa created a statue in honour of this virus, its flowing lines much like love, hope, laughter, friendship and inspiration... they all flow into each other and continue eternally.

Each one of us carries this virus within us, each of us spread it often without realising it.  We are all bright lights in a dark night sky, it is up to us to cultivate that virus and insure that it mutates to an unstoppable disease.

May the virus of Inspiration spread with no cure

May you continue infecting people as you have me

May no one person be safe from it

Wear it proudly on your head, don't ever be ashamed of being infected with this virus, don't ever stop spreading it...

WE ARE THE DAISY CHAIN

This post was inspired by so many different people, my life inspired daily by so many that some days I get dizzy with a smile on my face. To all of you I thank for inspiring me in each and every way.

A few days ago, I came out of a job interview feeling like I was not a good enough human being to wash dishes. Now, I remain under the impression that the woman I was speaking with is excessively rude and unpleasant however besides a sense of relief that I will not have to see her again, there is no reason for me to take any feelings back with me. I also realize that as I took the rejection with me -- I likely have done the same in the past.

I spoke with some friends about life, and dreams, and fears and work. I mentioned that when I get into closed off public spaces, I start looking for the exit. I am honestly afraid. I was informed that it is not necessary to live with this fear, and I quite agree. My thoughts go back, and I realize that I was not always so afraid. I in fact, realize that these things are related. I listen, and take in -- I think that it is my responsibility to please other people. I also realize that there are several things I took in throughout my life. I am not afraid of the store, or the public place. There are some rather unpleasant people that I hope never to see again -- I am afraid that they might go there. This fear is unrealistic -- in response to this fear, while I have a chance, I send some words... these words are open for the world to read.

To the girl who called me a disease, stated that she did not know how even God could accept, forgive, or love me -- to you, I answer that I am a man, and a human being. I am everything a person is, whether that is good or unflattering. What God's opinion is of me is God's business, and not yours. I have hid from you for years, while you were close, I jumped to know that I might have to face you again -- I still hear your words. For the longest time, I questioned the words -- looked into myself, wondered how I could become a person who did not corrupt, and make people sick. I wondered what I could have ever said, or done as I had no memory of any relationship beyond indifference. I am through hiding from you, you have no power over me. I will allow God to speak for himself, and I will allow your voice to fade away. I forgive you, and release myself from your power.

To the person who said of me that "you will live lonely, and die alone" I answer that you are wrong. Though I do not recognize it sometimes, my life is full of love. I have laughter and friendship in my life. I share ideas, and have deep friendships. I confess that over time, I allowed such words to enter inside of me. I questioned whether or not I had anything to offer -- but the truth is, I do have something to offer, something that is quite precious. I can offer myself, and my friendship. I will not die alone, because I do not live alone. Your words were never true, and they have no power. I forgive you.

To a teacher who I found brash, unprofessional, and belittling: Well, my experience with you is one of my FEW points of pride, because you did not scare me into submission. I still do not approve of the way you bullied and mocked students in public in front of other students. I am proud I told you this to your face, privately, after seeing what you did to one of my classmates. Whether I was right or wrong I expected retaliation for that act of bravery. I did not feel safe in that academic environment. At times, I wondered if I saw signs of retaliation -- I still do not know if I did or not, only that I was greatly intimidated. I am proud that I stood up for justice, instead of cowering in fear. If I paid a small price for this, I forgive you -- if I did not pay that small price, I still forgive you.

To a certain pastor, who was never pastor of my church, by your word, I abandoned my hope and dreams. After 6 years of hard work and study, I offered to give of myself, and to be available for service. I was ready, excited, full of hope and full of faith. I remember reading a simple e-mail that spoke of you. I was rejected, because you, a person who never had a relationship with me, never truly knew me, recommended that they not consider me. I am still amazed that a person who was never listed as a reference, and had no personal connection whatsoever would feel the duty to offer unsolicited opinions. When I spoke with you, you would not take the time to share what you saw -- you gave no advice, no help, you had no time for me. Since that time, I've abandoned hope. I wanted to offer everything I had and was, but I realized that this fight was not worthwhile. To avoid dealing with you in the future -- I became quite willing to wash dishes, or move garbage, or anything else. I do not know your reasons, even to this day -- I do know that I was a fool for letting you tell me what I was worth, and what I could do -- even indirectly. That I accepted doubt from you was my mistake. I still believe that you changed my life for the worse, but I forgive you. I now have a world of experience I never would have had otherwise, and the choices I make today are my own, not yours. I stopped going to church for almost two years out of frustration, however I am rejoining the community -- I have shared the loving and healing words of Jesus with people, and even in front of a congregation again. -- If Christ is for me, who can be against me? His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, and for the good things he has prepared for me in advance. You are powerless to withhold God's blessing from my life -- and, though I accepted doubt from you, I forgive you.

To my teacher, and mentor, Dr. Mark Kelly, Thank you so much for your positive advice and encouragement. I remember you praising some of my attempts at study, this meant the world to me. I also thank you for your advice and ideas, it has been an honor to study under you. I also remember you telling me that I have a problem making everything 'spiritual', and always seeking a solution inside me. I didn't realize what all this means, however I do now see that my best solution to a problem, be it with a relationship, or with unreasonable expectations, or with someone else's bigotry -- I always looked for a solution inside myself. If someone wanted to blame, I look for how it is my fault, and how it is a personal failing. I am thinking, perhaps, these things that have bothered me so long, that I cannot explain, are my fault. I know it took me a long time to hear you, Thank you.

To my friends Traci [Daniel's wife] and Saskia -- I am growing to agree with you... there is no reason that I should feel afraid and suck it up, smile, and just live with it. Thank you. I'm not sure what the answer is, however, I know that I did not have these fears as a child. I should be able to walk into a store, a restaurant, a church, or even someone else's office without fear.

As of today, I do not accept this bondage any more. I look forward to life. Today, I look for my salvation.

Finally to my all my true friends, who I fight with, and offend, and who have every right in the world to move me to tears... To my friends that I play with and laugh with, and love... :-) well, we've already forgiven each other when we fought. Thank you for everything.

Yes. Let me tell you. YES!

Prayer is mysterious.  We are told an earnest prayer is powerful.  We are told God will hear the prayers of the righteous.  We are told our prayers will move God's hand.  There is power in prayer we do not understand, yet we are to be obedient and persevere in it, even if our puny minds cannot conceive why.

The LORD is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.  ~Proverbs 15:29

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.  ~James 5:16

Finally, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble.  Do not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but instead bless others because you were called to inherit a blessing.  For the one who wants to love life and see good days must keep  his tongue from evil and his lips from uttering deceit.  And he must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.  For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer. You and I live in a loud world.  To get someone's attention is no easy task.  He must be willing to set everything aside to listen: turn down the radio, turn away from the monitor [ouch!], turn the corner of the page and set down the book.  When someone is willing to silence everything else so he can hear us clearly, it is a  privilege.  A rare privilege, indeed.

Its not uncommon for me to end up with a couple of these every week - bruises from yoga, normally acquired from balancing postures, landing with loud thuds from not being able to balance, and (the scarier of the three), when blood vessels break when hyperflexible stretches take place. Ah well, nothing that the rubbing of nutmeg oil won't ease by the next couple of days until I acquire a new one.

I was pretty wiped out by the Yoga 2 session, and pottered about town meeting friends for dinner, getting a much-needed haircut, dropping by the night event at the national museum (which was spectacular but way too crowded - below is a rather bad phone camera picture of a very good performance), and getting myself home early enough  to do some video editing work for Monday's event but have just realized I can't due to some technical issues.

One thing's for sure, a good night's sleep will benefit me immensely and I intend to do just that... I've been so burnt out clocking a rather ridiculous schedule since the term started. Still, its a schedule that makes me happy, and a life that fulfills me, so I really shouldn't complain but figure out how I can solve my problem of needing more sleep but also more time to do all the things that I need to do.

A lot of dog owners are spending much just to ensure the good health of their beloved pets. Pet food manufacturers in turn are doing their best to attract buyers to purchase their products. With so many pet food manufacturers with their elaborate advertisements, how will you know which one is best for your dog?

Naturally, the best diet for your beloved pet is the one you prepare yourself. The ingredients are wholesome meats and vegetables and are guaranteed fresh. However, some dog owners are too busy on other things that they find it impossible to spend time preparing meals for their pets. This is where commercial pet foods come in handy. Various brands with various types of pet foods line the shelves in pet stores and pet section of grocery stores each one is claiming better than the other. This reality creates a labyrinth in the minds of some dog owners.

To help the buyers, experts set guidelines in choosing a complete and balanced dog food. Assess your dog - breed, age, size and activity are some of the factors in determining the appropriate food. A puppy two months old has different nutritional needs from a dog two years of age. In addition, a Shih Tzu may have different energy levels compared to Poodles.

Check the product label focusing on the list of ingredients. The list should include proteins, vitamins, minerals and some essential fat such as beef fat, chicken fat or lamb fat. Whole meat should be the first ingredient. Choose one with few grains and fillers. A good dog food has no preservatives, no artificial colors, sugars and sweeteners. It does not contain syrup, sucrose, ammoniated glycyrrhizin or propylene glycol. If you have a two-month old puppy, consider buying a dog food specifically made for puppies. Most dog foods will tell you if they are for puppies, adults, older less active or dogs under specific diet.

Humans need foods in order to stay healthy, active and happy. The same way it goes for the dogs. Foods keep them fueled to let them do their stuff - running, playing ball, fetch and so on.

During some point of the journey they had an argument , and first friend slapped the other one in the face.The one who got slapped was hurt , but without saying anything , wrote in the sand "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE".

They kept on walking until they found an oasis where they decided to take a bath.The one who had  been slapped got shock in the mire and started drawing but the other friend saved him.After he was recovered from the near drawing , he wrote on the stone "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE".

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend  asked the other friend "After I hurt u , you wrote in the sand and now, i saved you, you wrote on the stone, Why?

The other friend replied:when someone hurt us we should write it down in the sand where wind of forgiveness can erase it away.

But when someone does something good for us we must engrave it in stone where no wind can erase it.

Truth be told, this was just another booster and a supporting detail of why we couldn't stand living out here anymore. It was somewhat of a wake-up call, that I was not looking to answer. When I've lied to myself, and lived in my head for months, you lose what you really feel because you cannot imagine something your eyes have not yet seen.

Two brothers walked alone that night, but were together as one. One: Enraged. Full with ideas of absurd plans of pay back and vengeance. Knowing that these plans meant nothing was a small thought in his mind, currently, because the big picture was jaded. The other: Also enraged. Seeing as one of his brothers had fallen, and one of the most important to him, he stood duty as a crutch. He was not going to let him fall. It was a surprise because the enraged, revenge-minded brother didn't know how strong and close they had really become. It was a breath of fresh air in one hell of a stormy night.
They moved on down the narrow and winding road that they had never walked along. It seemed that this part of town was to be discovered only on a night that a situation like this could occur. It was only aper-poe. As they walked on they realized the adrenaline high they were on would only turn out to be a heavy low that the one brother had not yet prepared to endure. The other was not even a direct link into this situation, but that didn't matter. No, that didn't matter. Previous to this flight down the narrow, winding road, both had witnessed the exact same thing, yet completely different. 2 sets of eyes, 4 of them, seeing 2 different things, yet it was the same vision. Both knew not how to handle themselves, as one poured emotion into the other, and vice-versa. They made a declaration that night; or maybe it was just a young thought they highly wished to impose onto their near future that seemed miles away. It was something to soothe the mind, as for every other thought that the enraged, revenged-minded brother had tried to think of didn't suffice.
They had claimed to make it big in the next years of their lives. Maybe not on screens, but in hearts. In minds, they wanted to be the last thing everyone thought about before they went to sleep. Well, maybe not everyone, but the people that mattered to them. They wished to leave a legacy of truth, justice, maturity, and a way of thinking that no other two men have not yet come upon. They wished for themselves, and to have iron hearts that didn't have to experience this pain that they had set themselves up for. It was so unexpected, what were they to do? The only thing was to plant this flag into the ground, amidst the storm carrying on overhead. It poured on them that night. It poured. It poured.

My only guess was to that this was karma. I had played out scenarios in my head countless amounts of times, and of course, I succeeded. It was a rage I wasn't able to handle; I had come out of my shoes for a little while. I close my eyes and the night still plays back to me and feelings return, but this is what it is supposed to be like. For, that night was the first night in a long time that I had been tired of dying, and had to began to live again. I realized I had brothers at my side, who, in each of their own ways, saw into me. They knew how it felt, without actually knowing. They smoothed out my edges, no matter how many times I'd get sharp again. The most difficult part for me is seeing all of this now. I know it's a battle that I'm ready to deal with, and it will be tough.
