On kulunut lähes 27 vuotta siitä, kun Indiana Jones seikkaili ensimmäisen kerran. Indiana Jones ja Kadonneen aarteen metsästäjän ensi-ilta vuonna 1981 räjäytti potin ja aloitti legendaarisen trilogian. Indiana Jonesin seikkailut alkavat vuodesta 1932 hänen etsiessä kadonnutta aarretta, liitonarkkia. Pari vuotta myöhemmin Indy etsii ryöstettyjä Sankara-kiviä tutustuen hyvinkin läheltä Tugeeni-kulttiin. Viimeisellä ristiretkellä vuonna 1938 hän etsii Graalin maljaa yhdessä isänsä kanssa natsien seuratessa tarkasti jokaista askelta. Vuosien saatossa nämä elokuvat ovat saavuttaneet kulttimaineen. Indiana Jones ja Viimeinen ristiretki piti olla loistava päätöselokuva hienolle trilogialle – Indiana ratsastaa auringonlaskuun voittajana. Nyt vuonna 2008 Steven Spielberg tuo yhdessä George Lucasin kanssa Indyn takaisin valkokankaalle Jeff Nathansonin käsikirjoituksen pohjalta. Yhdeksäntoista vuotta myöhemmin Indiana Jones on jälleen mukana kuvioissa, vanhempana ja viisaampana.

Elokuva alkaa keskeltä autiomaata vuonna 1957 kylmän sodan riehuessa. Indy on apurinsa Macin kanssa paennut neuvostoliittolaisilta. Indyn viimeisimmät tempaukset ovat saaneet hänen työpaikkansa, Marshall Collegen, johtoportaan varpaisilleen – Indyn jopa epäillään olevan KGB:n kätyri. Indy päättää pakata tavaransa ja poistua kaupungista. Sattumalta hän tapaa nuoren kapinallisen Muttin, jolla on Indylle henkilökohtainen tehtävä - pelastaa Muttille tärkeät henkilöt. Panoksena on myös Akatorin kristallikallo, jonka omistaja saa legendan mukaan itselleen suurtakin suuremmat voimat. Samaista tarunhohtoista kristallikalloa metsästävät myös neuvostosotilaat päällikkönään teräksenkylmä Irina Spalko. He uskovat, että kristallikallon avulla Neuvostoliitto voi hallita koko maailmaa, tosin kalloa pitää ensin osata tulkita oikein. Seikkailu on täynnä vaarallisia tilanteita, epäluotettavia ystäviä ja häikäilemättömiä neukkusotilaita, jotka ovat valmiita tekemään mitä tahansa kristallikallon vuoksi.

Ensimmäinen puolituntinen osoittaa elokuvan olevan tavanomaista Indiana Jonesia, jota nähtiin jo parikymmentä vuotta sitten. Elokuva alkaa täysin samalla tavalla kuin aikaisemminkin eli ensin ollaan jossain etsimässä sitä jotakin, joudutaan vaaraan ja pelastaudutaan. Teema on pysynyt samana – on vaarallisia tilanteita, kadonneita sivilisaatioita, kiihkeää tappelua vihollisen kanssa, on huumoria, niin ja sitä romantiikkaakin. Elokuvaan on saatu hienosti myös yllätyksellisyyttä, sen varaan ei kuitenkaan ole jätetty kaikkea. Toimivaa kaavaa ei ole pahemmin muuteltu. Vanhan ajan Paramount-logo muistuttaa ”niistä hyvistä ajoista”, kun elokuvat vielä olivat elokuvia.

Indiana Jones ja kristallikallon valtakunnan traileri antoi kuvan perinteisestä seikkailuelokuvasta, mutta valitettavasti tehosteilla pelataan liikaa ja se pilaa elokuvan tunnelman. Elokuva on nopeatempoinen ja räiskinnästä ei ole puutetta. Paikka paikoin juonta on vaikea seurata, sillä elokuvassa tapahtuu turhankin paljon. Ensimmäinen katselukerta ei välttämättä riitä sisäistämään sitä kaikkea, mitä elokuvassa näkyy ja tapahtuu. Mieluusti olisi katsonut puhdasta seikkailuelokuvaa, ns. ”vanhan ajan Indyä”, kuin kaoottista tietokonetehostein kyllästettyä toimintaa

Elokuvassa vilisee valtavasti näyttelijöitä, jotka kukin tekevät nappisuorituksen, varsinkin kun tätä elokuvaa tullaan aina vertaamaan edeltäjiinsä. Harrison Ford ei ole unohtanut Indyn sisintä näiden vuosien aikana, hän näyttelee roolinsa tuttuun tapaan taistellen itsensä vaikeuksien kautta voittoon. Vaikka hahmo on tuttu, jotain jää kuitenkin puuttumaan. Hienot takaa-ajot, loikat, tappelut ja ne kuuluisat humoristiset lausahdukset eivät pelasta siltä totuudelta, että aika on tehnyt tehtävänsä tälle legendaariselle hahmolle. Indy on kuitenkin säilynyt Indynä kaikesta huolimatta, ja se on tärkeintä.

Shia LaBeouf kapinallisena Muttina on loistava James Deanin ja Marlon Brandon sekoitus. Nuori kapinallinen tarjoaa ennen kaikkea hienoja taistelukohtauksia, naljailu Indyn iästä saa hymähtämään kerran jos toisenkin. Cate Blanchett neuvostosotapäällikkö Irina Spalkon roolissa on erilainen, mihin ollaan vuosien aikana totuttu. Blanchett on ensimmäistä kertaa roiston roolissa, osa sopii hänelle todella hyvin. Hahmo ei kalpene James Bondin arkkivihollisille. Blanchettin silmistä huokuu salaperäisyyttä ja uteliaisuutta, kuin myös sitä tarvittavaa pahuutta. Hän on todella hyvännäköinen harmaassa univormussa ja mustassa polkkatukassa. Hänen roolihahmonsa omaa hyvin voimakkaan tahdon - jos hän jotain haluaa, sen hän myös saa. Toinen voimakastahtoinen hahmo on ensimmäisestä Indiana Jonesista tuttu Karen Allen. Hänen esittämänsä Marion Ravenwood on edelleen se sama vanha sanavalmis poikatyttö, ja jolla on viha-rakkaussuhde Indyyn.

Indiana Jonesia on kaivattu viimeiset 19 vuotta. Hän tekeekin loistavan paluun valkokankaalle tässä mielipiteitä vahvasti jakavassa elokuvassa. Indiana Jones ja kristallikallon valtakunta on toimiva seikkailuelokuva, vaikka sortuukin välillä liiallisiin ylilyönteihin. Tämä seikka ei kuitenkaan tee elokuvasta huonoa. Elokuvan henki on pysynyt suht samana, vaikka siitä puuttuukin edeltäjiinsä verrattuna se jokin.

La pantalla norteamericana puso al aire durante esta semana uno de los capítulos más osados de “South Park”, la controversial serie de comedia animada creada por Matt Stone y Trey Parker.
En el episodio en cuestión, Stan sueña que el mítico personaje de “Indiana” Jones interpretado por el actor Harrison Ford es sometido a un abuso sexual por parte de George Lucas y Steven Spielberg, el creador del famoso arqueólogo y el director de la popular saga de aventuras respectivamente.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull may have put Indiana Jones on the map again but actor Harrison Ford does not see a future for the franchise. Director Steven Spielberg and producer George Lucas have both previously talked about that Indiana Jones may live on without Harrison Ford, and rumors have been hinting at that it would be Indy´s co-star Shia LaBeouf that would take on the hat and whip for the next installment. Harrison on the other way does not like what he is hearing and denies, denies and denies. The big question though is how much Harrison really has to say about this.

El último capítulo de South Park, la transgresora serie de animación, está dando que hablar. Se emitió el miércoles pasado en EEUU y desde entonces los comentarios en internet se han multiplicado. No todos los días se ve a los creadores de Indiana Jones, Steven Spielberg y George Lucas, violando al famoso arqueólogo interpretado por Harrison Ford. [...]
Dicen que es una crítica de los cáusticos ideólogos de la serie contra la cuarta parte de Indiana Jones que se estrenó este año -a mí también me decepcionó-, pero hay que reconocer que algunas escenas son de mal gusto. No me extrañaría que los reales Spielberg y Lucas pidiesen la retirada del episiodio, como ya hizo Tom Cruise en el pasado cuando se metieron con su sexualidad y sus creencias cienciólogas.
En mi opinión -y no soy un carca- se les fue de las manos la "crítica". Pero ese es mi punto de vista, ¿tú qué opinas?

I have recently had the chance to see Blade Runner on Blu-Ray and was impressed with the quality since this movie was released around the time I was born. The photo above does not do justice to the quality I saw. However, this post isn't about the quality of Blu-Ray and how good this movie looks but about the movie itself.

Is it my fault that having watched so many modern and more entertaining movies before watching Blade Runner somehow damped the effect this movie might have had on me. Or is it just an old movie which would not work in the popular sweepstakes of today's box office. Taking a look at the top 10 list of 1982 (by votes) I see that I do like a few movies even now, I did enjoy First Blood (I admit) when I saw it first on TV many years after release and could watch it now. I liked Conan the barbarian (not anymore) when I was a wee lil kid and I love Sir Richard Attenborough's Gandhi. If you think about it, if anyone releases these movies today, Gandhi would be an commission-earner (or average in filmi-lingo, or so I have been told), First Blood would be the Akshay Kumar starrer, no-brainer but huge box-office success and Conan would be the C-center king (I vaugely remember Anaconda running for many many days in my village, dubbed into Telugu ofcourse.) They would all be successes in different ways but not Blade Runner, I do not see it being a success today, hell it wasn't a success when it was released.

Since Blade Runner has such a cult status I though I might have liked it, I like Pulp Fiction, I love the Fight Club (not the hindi version dammit, stop thinking about it) so why, why dear god did I find Blade Runner boring, slow as a centipede and utterly shallow, even silly.

The story is insipid, about a few human lookalikes (strangely called - replicants) who are made to last for just 4 years, a few go rouge and Harrison Ford reluctantly finds and kills them, while he is getting some action from another replicant. Dear lord. Save me from eternal damnation that -Blade Runner cultists - will heap on me.

It might have been a good movie for science-fiction enthusiasts, maybe some oldies who were mesmerised by the flying cars (this movie set the tone for a lot of future sci-fi movies) back in 1982 but it is not for me, it is not a pulp fiction which has some of the best dialouge (I know, I know, apples and oranges) it has a good chance of being liked by one more generation.

Now, if you come here saying Pulp Fiction is a bad movie, damn you.

So today, I've been killing time in between all the shitload of schoolwork just to keep my sanity in tact and whoah. This popped out of one of the online quizzes I was wasting time with.

(Excessive blushing). Note to guys: When a girl tells you that she is cold, she likes you. Especially if you're in the Philippines where the weather is never cold enough.

♥And it is kind of weird that most of my friends are older than me. Not my friends from school but some of my BFFs from my non academic world. Eltee, Kimi, Mariel... Lol.

♥My intimacy will always be short of 100%? Maybe not intimacy but... Attachment/Commitment. :)

Outside: the Anxiety Issue

One of my favorite bedtime stories as a kid was There’s a Monster at the End of this Book, starring Grover, Jim Henson’s fuzzy blue monster. October’s Outside is a grown-up version, starring a larger-than-life Harrison Ford on the cover.

This time, there’s no monster, just a rather high dose of anxiety for a magazine about the great outdoors.

Before delivering all the bad news at once, however, America’s chief frontiersman monthly eases its readers in. The first half of the magazine is cheery as a clear sky on the morning of a day hike. Even the ads make you want to get lost.

Flipping through the first half of this issue shows Outside in characteristic form, delivering its popular bag of tricks to readers who might be taking a break from The Economist.

There’s an update, for instance, on new climbing records set on El Capitan’s “nose route” (which if we were cool enough we would know about and not have to Google). There are brewery updates, book and website reviews, and a guide to food-based wilderness trips. By the time we hit the middle of the magazine, we’ve learned how to take better pictures and admired the latest in hiking-boot chic dress shoes. Things are looking up, and quite literally.

Then comes the slow descent. Or in storybook terms, some serious flak from Grover for turning the page and getting us closer to the monster. In the first feature, writer David Vann chronicles his in the flesh investigation into Californian John Long’s ill-fated voyage from Mexico to Ireland. The story reads like a Borges tale, taking us beyond our Gore-Tex and nature paths, to where travel crosses the trajectory of human longing. With modern-day pirates, corruption, and truths left untold, Outside shows that it’s more than a catalogue.

Ford jumps in briefly to offer respite from the somber, with a list of new places to put on your life list. While most of us are barely through our first three, it’s a nice gesture. Even if he does have his own private jet, the man’s allowed to pretend to dream.

Then it’s down we go again with T.J. Murphy’s profile of infamous triathlon coach Brett Sutton. Murphy pulls no wool over the eyes as he plumbs Sutton’s shady past with pointed prose.

We finish with some black humor as travel writer Patrick Symmes’ psychoanalyzes his desire for a cabin all his own. The glimpse he provides into his failures and missed marks is raw and vulnerably existential. It actually kind of makes me want to stay home.

The issue peters off with some bland service pieces hidden away in fold outs and behind ads. We’re left with Outside's characteristic “Parting Shot," and this time it's a man walking off a rocky precipice into nothingness.

There may not be a monster at the end of this book, but we’re left to contend with something nonetheless. We win, we lose, we fade away. And most of the time, it’s without much of an outro.

You tell great stories, Outside, but next time, go easy on the heavy.

Sequelitis part 5: Indiana Jones, Batman, Tron and Zombies

Ever since Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull was released, lead star Harrison Ford has expressed enthusiasm in a potential fifth big-screen entry in the popular adventure franchise, as long as it doesn't take to long for production to start, and he's recently stated that creator George Lucas currently has an idea for the plot that is "crazy, but great".

According to the official publication Production Weekly, Christopher Nolan, the director of the previous two Batman films, has officially signed on for a third one, and pre-production will start in February 2009. Take this with a grain of salt because that date seems way too close.

The highly anticipated Tr2n will be made in 3D while newcomer director Joseph Kosinski believes the film will be released by the end of 2010 and confirms the first movie's director, Steven Lisberger, is involved in the production. Also, original star Jeff Bridges, who reprises his role, is extremely enthusiastic.

Rumors have it that Paul Andrews Williams (The Cottage) has signed on to direct 28 Months Later, the third entry in Danny Boyle's superb zombie franchise. The only problem? Danny Boyle has always stated he would return to direct the film himself.

Lucas in Think Mode, Run to The Hills

Since George Lucas has developed dementia in his old age from eating gold coins, he is already brainstorming for Indy 5. Having already exhausted monkeys, gophers, and ants, Lucas has been consulting his children to see what critters would excite a ten year old this time around. From an interview with Ford:

"It's crazy but great," the 66-year-old Ford said. "George is in think mode right now."

That's kind of a scary thought, but if Ford calls it "crazy," then hey, maybe it is. Maybe Lucas has come up with a story bat-shit insane enough to make a good movie this time around. Or maybe we can just hide in a fridge in case of a nuclear blast.

A idéia de um quinto filme baseado no personagem de Indiana Jones já passa pela cabeça de George Lucas, disse nesta sexta-feira o ator Harrison Ford, protagonista da saga, ao jornal "The Los Angeles Times".

"É uma loucura, mas é genial", disse Ford, de 66 anos. "George está pensando nisso atualmente", disse o ator.

O quarto longa-metragem da saga, "Indiana Jones e o Reino da Caveira de Cristal", que estreou em 22 de maio nos Estados Unidos, arrecadou US$ 770 milhões (R$ 1,5 bilhão) nos cinemas de todo o mundo.

"É algo automático, de verdade, fizemos muito bem com o último [filme] e, tendo sido uma experiência positiva, não é surpreendente que algumas pessoas queiram voltar a fazê-lo", disse o ator.

19 años tuvieron que pasar para volver a ver las aventuras del profesor, arqueólogo y aventurero Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) sólo para darnos cuenta que el tiempo no pasa en vano. No, no estoy hablando de las canas de Ford, sino que del agotamiento de George Lucas y Steven Spielberg que nos presentan la más floja de las cuatro películas de Indiana Jones, la cual se sustenta principalmente por el cariño que se le tiene a las primeras tres y, en menor medida, a las actuaciones que sirven también para recordar los viejos personajes. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull debía ser la gran película de aventuras de la década, sin embargo, queda muy por detrás de la trilogía de Pirates of the Caribbean y peligrosamente cerca de al menos la primera The Mummy.

12 años después del fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial un grupo de soldados soviéticos, a cargo de la Coronel Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett) captura al Dr. Jones (Harrison Ford) y a su amigo Mac (Ray Winstone) con la intención de lograr que cooperen con ellos en la búsqueda de una misteriosa caja, oculta en el fondo de un hangar de la legendaria Área 51. La caja contiene una extraña calavera de cristal que develaría los misterios de una antigua civilización sudamericana. En medio de la persecución, escape y nueva persecución que sufre el viejo Indy, este se encontrará con un presumido joven llamado Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf), quien le pedirá ayuda para encontrar a un viejo amigo de Jones y amigo de la madre del jóven, Harold Oxley (John Hurt), quien de alguna manera está involucrado con la calavera de cristal que los soviéticos buscan con desesperación. En un viaje que lo llevará primero a Perú y luego a lo más profundo del Amazonas brasileño, descubriendo misteriosas ciudad en ruina, violentos guerreros indígenas y uno que otro bicho asqueroso.

El gran pecado de Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull es que se queda pegada en el tiempo y trata de replicar las mismas historias que se vieron en Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) e Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), pero con mucha menos fuerza y gracia que sus predecesoras. La cinta de Steven Spielberg tiene el peor humor irónico de las cuatro cintas, la historia más floja y el personaje antagonísta más caricaturezco de todos, ya que aunque Cate Blanchett es una buena actriz, su personaje es un mal chiste, partiendo por su look y terminando por unos diálogos que no convencen a nadie. Resulta que la película no parte mal, de hecho asume la imagen colectiva nostálgica que los fans tienen de las cintas anteriores, sin embargo, cae en un letargo a medida que se acerca a la mitad del metraje de la cual no repunta en ningun momento. La utilización de Shia LaBeouf para cumplir las funciones que en Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade recayeron en Sean Connery es interesante, pero no se acerca a los talones de lo hecho por el ex 007. En resumen esta es una película medianamente entretenida, con una fotografía que rememora a la trilogía original y que sirve para reencontrarse con el entrañable personaje interpretado por Harrison Ford, sin embargo, quien se siente a verla se arriesga un poco.

o Spielberg conseguiu. conseguiu me transportar lá pro mundo fantasioso dele, e ainda de quebra, me arrastar pra aquela nostalgia tão peculiar dos anos 80 e seus filmes dublados da sessão da tarde. Reino da Caveira de Cristal tem tudo que os Indys anteriores tinham e otimizado com umas doideiras sensacionais enfiadas ali no meio daquela diversão toda. Ford está bem demais - eu temia por ele nesse - , mas não, eles ainda usam essa coisa da idade, de estar "ultrapassado" a favor do próprio Ford/Jones. e aquela trilha, hein? arrepiante. pipoca e família reunida na sala. vale cada minuto.

"Blade Runner 2" In The Works???

Could this be true a "Blade Runner 2" who knew. According to Cinematical one of the writers from Slashfilm attended a Q&A session with one of the writers of Eagle Eye. During the Q&A the writer, Travis Wright, said that he and his partner John Glenn were trying to work through "various treatments for a Blade Runner sequal during the past couple years." They were also said to be working behind co-executive producer Bud Yorkin, but all of this work has been done outside the studio and has no way of it yet ever being a done deal just yet. Basically they are just putting together a good idea so the studio will eventually green light the project.

Also, Ridley Scott who was the director to the orignal Blade Runner movies is nowhere near a sequal in mind. In my personal opinion I don't think it should be done, but this may come from the fact that me personally, I didn't like the blade runner series that much and that this movie was really overrated, but that's just my own personal opnion on that matter. Also, some people who are blade runner fans might have a hard time accepting the fact that Travis Wright might be carrying on with this project and eventually being a future writer for it, because of his work on Eagle Eye

. Yes the bad guy was kind of lame, but I had no problem with the overall movie even though some people might disagree with this it was pretty good and I was on the edge of my seat a few times. For more on this head over to Slashfilm, and leave your comments on what you think.

Para convencer Bud, Boone mudou todos os seus conceitos, apoiando entre outras coisas o meio-ambiente e o casamento homossexual. Grammer mostra que um candidato é capaz de tudo para se eleger.

Morgan Freeman - Impacto Profundo (1998)
Freeman foi o presidente Tom Beck na película. Quando cientistas descobriram que um mega asteróide colidiriam com o planeta, Beck decidiu construir cavernas para abrigar um milhão de norte-americanos. Após enviar, um grupo de experientes astronautas ao espaço, o presidente consegue salvar o mundo e sai como um dos heróis da história.

Dennis Quaid - Tudo pela Fama (2006)
Com um personagem cômico, Quaid interpreta o presidente Joseph Staton, criticado veementemente pela imprensa. Dependente dos seus assessores, Staton foi convencido a participar do reality show musical mais popular do país, onde quase acabou sofrendo um atentado terrorista.

Harrison Ford - Força Aérea Um (1997)
Ford foi o presidente James Marshall, que viu terroristas seqüestrarem o Força Aérea Um, avião presidencial, com toda sua família como refém. Ao invés de abandonar o avião, o presidente decidiu permanecer na aeronave e conseguiu soltar todos os reféns e salvar sua família.

Jack Nicholson - Marte Ataca! (1996)
Nicholson esteve no papel do presidente James Dale, um otimista que acreditava que os marcianos viriam à Terra em paz. Após fazer contato com os alienígenas e perceber que eles tinham a idéia de destruir a raça humana, o cômico personagem percebeu que deveria ter feito uma política de defesa melhor.

James Cromwell - A Soma de Todos os Medos (2002)
Na pele do presidente J. Robert Fowler, Cromwell viveu um conflito ao achar que os russos atacaram os Estados Unidos com uma bomba nuclear em Baltimore. Porém, ele decidiu acreditar no analista da CIA Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck) que afirmava que o presidente da Rússia não era o culpado. Fowler tomou a opção certa, salvando o planeta, em mais um caso que o presidente norte-americano vira um dos heróis da história.

Kevin Kline - Dave (1993)
Kline aparece no filme em dose dupla como o presidente Bill Mitchell e seu sósia Dave Kovic. Após Mitchell sofrer um ataque cardíaco, Kovic, um dono de uma agência de empregos, assumiu o seu lugar em uma jogada dos assessores do presidente para dominarem o poder. Porém, Kovic decidiu tomar as suas próprias decisões e se apaixonou pela primeira-dama.

Gene Hackman - Poder Absoluto (1997)
Diferentemente da maioria dos presidentes norte-americanos interpretados no cinema, Gene Hackman interpreta um vilão. Na pele de Allen Richmond, ele foi flagrado por um ladrão (Clint Eastwood) que ia roubar a casa quando vê Richmond, eleito recentemente presidente, matando uma mulher em um quarto. O político saiu à caça do ladrão para apagar as provas do crime.

Bill Pullman - Independence Day (1996)
O caso mais claro em que o presidente dos Estados Unidos assume a posição de herói para salvar a humanidade. Pullman foi o presidente Thomas J. Whitmore que para impedir que alienígenas destruíssem o planeta chega até a pilotar um avião e matar uns extra-terrestres.

Report: George Lucas still moving ahead with Indy 5...

Harrison Ford says that George Lucas is in "thinking mode" for Indy 5. Lucas is serious about doing Indy 5 and continues to move forward. Ford speaks out on the status for Indy 5 with LA Times, giving hints that it's definitely gonna happen and Ford seems to be game to continue to play Indy, but Ford refuses to do voice overs for an animated Indy film.

After Lucas doing "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" animated film, he now has an "Indiana Jones" animated film in the planning stages.

"Indy and the Crystal Skull" will be hitting DVD/Blu Ray Oct. 14th, so be on the lookout for that.

Um cult da ficção científica - baseado no conto "Do androids dream of electric sheep?", de Philip K. Dick -, o filme conta a história de Deckard, um policial especializado em caçar replicantes, que na verdade eram andróides muito parecidos com seres humanos. Tais policiais eram conhecidos como blade runners. A missão de Deckard é caçar e eliminar 5 replicantes que vagam pelas ruas de Los Angeles. O visual futurista e ao mesmo tempo obscuro do filme, juntamente com a trilha sonora transcendental de Vangelis tornam a película obrigatória para os fãs de ficção científica.

HARRISON FORD confirma INDIANA JONES V

Aunque eso de las confirmaciones en esta saga puede llevar un par de décadas en concretarse -a las pruebas me remito- Harrison Ford ha confirmado personalmente que tanto él mismo, como el difícil de calificar George Lucas, ya piensan en una quinta parte de Indiana Jones.

La más reciente actualización del personaje en El Reino de la Calavera de Cristal, no consiguió satisfacer completamente a algunos de los fans del arqueólogo, por lo que esta quinta parte sería la última oportunidad para cerrar por fin la saga.

El hecho de que Lucas esté una vez más como cerebro pensante del proyecto levanta ciertas suspicacias, y los casi 800 millones de dólares recaudados por la película -y faltan las ventas de Blu-Ray y DVD-, aumentan las dudas sobre su motivación real para seguir explotando al héroe.

La cuestión es que el tiempo corre en su contra y el director habitual de la franquicia Steven Spielberg, parece estar centrado actualmente en otras cuestiones.

Harrison Ford says George Lucas is thinking up a plot for a fifth Indiana Jones movie. Wait, what?

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a mistake. It was a mistake to make it and a mistake to see it. I had high hopes, and I'm sure you did too, but somewhere between the nuclear-proof refrigerator and Shia Laboeuf Tarzaning through the trees, my mind started to wander, and an hour after seeing it I could barely remember it.

This was made even clearer this past weekend when the kids and I watched the original trilogy, which holds up so wonderfully. Crystal Skull doesn't even come close. Somehow, though, it made a temple full of cash, so yeah, a sequel is likely on its way. And it will be stupid.

It shouldn't be. I'm not one of those people who harps on Harrison Ford's age. Yeah, he's a senior citizen. But he's also Harrison Ford - he's Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Jack Ryan, the President and that cool guy from American Graffiti. So he can keep being any of those guys for as long as he wants, in my book.

The problem with Crystal Skull was not Harrison Ford. It was the fact that it was dumb. It had so much potential, and I was into it from the start; the casual mention of U.S. intelligence work fit right in with the Jones mythos, and I liked that. But then it started to smell. It started to really smell.

But hey, action figures were in stores, Ford's face was on signs and posters and toys and games, and you could even get a little plastic Shia. Fast-food outlets were promoting the thing to kids whose parents were kids the last time Ford put on the fedora. You could buy a toy whip at Wal-Mart, which to me just seems so wrong.

"It was everywhere I turned," Ford told the LA Times yesterday. "I was on a Corn Flakes box or something else. That's what it takes now to do a good job of marketing a movie like this."

Yeah, that's what it takes. Anything to distract people from the actual suckness of it. Indiana Jones, sadly, has become an idea that works without quality films behind it.

It's really time for Hollywood to quit mining old ideas and come up with something new, says the guy who has the Star Trek movie release date marked on his calendar.
