Hier die Geschichte: Jimmy Kimmel hat seit Jahren eine TV-Show. Am Ende kommt immer der Satz "eigentlich wollte ich noch was zu Matt Damon sagen, aber die Zeit ist leider um, gute Nacht". Diese "verarsche" läuft seit Jahren. Nun schlägt Matt Damon zurück und zwar mit Comedian Sarah Silvermann, die Freundin von Jimmy Kimmel.

Also, Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel officially announced the end of their relationship, which makes this a perfect opportunity to reflect on their two big viral hits from earlier this year. Who did the former couple used to f***? Remember the good times at NewTeeVee Station!

The Good Shepherd

"Edward Wilson believed in America, and he would sacrifice everything he loved to protect it."

The Good Shepherd is basically a character study of what it took to be a spy in the early days of the CIA, when it was still known as the OSS. We follow the life and career of  Edward Wilson [Matt Damon]. How he was recruited, and how his job gets increasingly difficult as he tries to plug an information leak in the bureau, and is willing to sacrifice his ideals and his family to do it. Damon's 'Wilson' is so straight-edge and can completely detach emotionally from his work. Which is beneficial if you don't plan on having any sort of life outside of work, but he tries to - and as you can probably guess - he fails miserably. If this was based on a true story, I might cut it more slack, but it wasn't. So the fictional characters felt like just that - fictional. Watching them and their decisions became increasingly frustrating because they just didn't seem realistic. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I expect people working for the OSS or CIA to be smarter than these characters seemed to be... I will say that there was nothing wrong with the acting or cinematography - everything was perfectly true to the period [1940s]. And there was an amazing supporting cast with Alec Baldwin, William Hurt, Robert De Niro, Billy Crudup and Angelina Jolie. The pacing was slow, though, and this movie is very long. If you know that going in, it may not be so bad. This is a drama with some suspense thrown in. I wouldn't call it a thriller, though, even though that's what it's categorized as on IMDb...

Breach

"Inspired by the true story of the greatest security breach in U.S. history."

Breach is a more recent story that takes place in '01 about how the young CIA agent, Eric O'Neill [Ryan Phillipe] was instrumental in catching the 'worst spy in history', Robert Hanssen [Chris Cooper], the man who was convicted for selling secrets to the Soviet Union. Ironically, Hanssen was a very devout Catholic, and aroused suspicion initially based on his less-than-desirable sexual habits. O'Neill is sent in by his boss, Kate Burroughs [Laura Linney] to pose as a new employee of Hanssen to get closer to him and collect the evidence they need to arrest him. Breach is a fast-paced, cat-and-mouse style thriller with an amazing performance by Chris Cooper as Hanssen. Nobody plays righteous and deviant quite like Cooper. lol...

WINNER: Breach

Why? It wasn't 167 minutes. It went somewhere. It had suspense. It wasn't pointless. That tagline for The Good Shepherd pretty much sums up the movie. The main character was so one-dimensional that it was tough caring about him at all, so it was almost torture watching a movie about someone so seemingly insignificant in the grand scheme of things. We almost left at several points during this movie, but stuck it out - all 167 minutes of it - hoping for some kind of resolution. And there was none to be had. There are many people out there who seemed to enjoy this film. They are very patient people. lol... save yourself the 2 hours and 47 minutes and go for Breach if you're trying to decide between the two.

Silverman presented I'm F***ing Matt Damon to Kimmel as a gift in honor of Jimmy Kimmel Live's 5th anniversary (it was originally meant to be aired in November 2007 during Kimmel's birthday show, which never happened due to the WGA strike), and uploads of the video quickly appeared on YouTube in a Lazy Sunday-esque wave.

The choice of partners is deliberate, as Jimmy Kimmel has a long-standing joke feud with Matt Damon (culminating in a rage-filled appearance in September 2006), but who knew that Matt Damon could not only rap, but bust out some 90s-dance-crew moves?

And who knew that Kimmel would raise the bar so dramatically with a follow-up featuring Damon BFF Ben Affleck? I'm F***ing Ben Affleck may start off like a cheap rip-off, but soon afterwards ups the ante, both in an artistic and cast sense: the quasi-official YouTube upload lists Robin Williams, Don Cheadle, Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate, Rebecca Romijn, Benji Madden, Joel Madden, Dicky Barrett, Christopher Mintz-Plasse a.k.a. Mclovin, Lance Bass, Dominic Monaghan, Meatloaf, Pete Wentz, Joan Jett, Huey Lewis, Perry Farrell, Macy Gray and Josh Groban. Sure, there are no butterflies. But there is a "We Are The World"-esque chorus and Harrison Ford in a convertible. Advantage: Kimmel.

Of course, Silverman and Kimmel didn't work together on these shorts -- both were directed by Wayne McClammy, a Jimmy Kimmel Live segment director who's parlayed his success into exciting directing gigs. But the established nature of their relationship in the public eye is what gives these pieces the additional kick. What makes "I'm F***ing Matt Damon/Ben Affleck" so much fun is that the humor of the pieces reflect that stage in a romance when all the insecurity is gone, when both partners are so comfortable with each other that they can make these sorts of tasteless jokes. Now that they've broken up, it's just a little sad, to think of the people they are now, um, f***ing.

But maybe there's a chance they got together for one last breakup music video. Everyone knows those are always the best.

Matt Damon is worried he may lose his "Sexiest Man Alive" title.  The Bourne Ultimatum star, who was given the honour last year by People Magazine, joked the 20 to 30 lbs he gained for Steven Soderbergh's upcoming thriller The Informant may disqualify him from the position.  He said, "I think I lost my title."

The former hearthrob, who won an Oscar for co-writing Good Will Hunting with close friend Ben Affleck, also revealed he really enjoyed pilling on the pounds for the role.  He added to People Magazine, "It wasn't necessarily that I needed to be fat.  It was that I needed to be doughy.  I just stopped working out and basically just ate whatever I wanted.  I ate a lot of In-N-Out, a lot of burgers, drank a lot of beer and basically had a great time.  When you're in your 20s you can do that kind of stuff.  When you're in your 30s, It's a whole different ball game."

Ruskigt bra film. Älskar alla vändningar. Twist and turn.

I början trodde jag att Matt Damon var god och att Leonardo skulle falla in i gangsterligan. Men ack vilka vändningar. Efter filmens slut ville jag att Damon skulle LIDA, ett skott i huvudet var fan riktigt mesigt. Jag ville att han skulle utsättas för hat och skam när sanningen kom fram, inte en sådan enkel lösning som en kula bakom pannbenet. Dock var nog känslan jävligt skön att äntligen få skjuta råttan. Hursomhelst, sevärd film.

There was a loudmouth airmen holding court in our division TOC talking about the recent Syracuse/Kansas final that Syracuse won. The topic eventually got to high school players going pro and what colleges Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant would have gone to if they had not made the jump to the NBA. This guy was a know it all and if someone questioned him he tried to pull rank or tell them they were dumb. He kept on saying how great Michigan would have been with both Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant. I was listening to this moron on the peripheral and decided to chime in that Kobe was going to go to Duke not Michigan. Since I was sitting down he tried the tough act to get me to change my mind. He obviously had no idea that I was 6'3 and a fit 230 because he would not have done that if I was standing. As I stood up to tell him why he was wrong I could see his demeanor change. He still tried to act tough and even tried to pull rank but since he was wrong and started the argument and was in the Air Force I was not listening to him. Before it escalated any more someone had checked about Kobe and found that he would have gone to Duke. I did not need the confirmation since I knew it, but the loser did.
