Hi everyone! Since there’s no releases of interest to me, today I’ve been watching the v

Hi everyone! Since there's no releases of interest to me, today I've been watching the videos I've downloaded. Because a big bunch of them have downloaded and it took me aprox. 8 hours to watch. But it was great, I had a nice time. Mostly I watched Fujimoto Miki's tv appearances, because she's trying to make the top-sales of her album, so she appears on many different events, tv-shows etc. and I try to catch up with these, because recently I liked Mikichi ^_^

After I've watched Mikichi's videos, I watched two weeks of Berikyuu(I download them in a week-batch, that's more convenient for me than just downloading each episode each day).

Now, I am waiting for 14th week batch, and I watched weeks 12 and 13. Week 12's first episodes featured "Cooking de Berikyuu!" and once again, C-ute team won, because they had Yajima Maimi and Umeda Erika for their contest and Berryz Koubou had Tokunaga Chinami and Natsuyaki Miyabi for theirs. China-chan and Miya-chan can't cook at all! Well... they do cook something, but it doesn't help them to score points! >_< this is not good! Dame!

And in the next episode we see that C-ute team won the series. Berryz Koubou team have to play the "Batsu gemu"(i.e - loser's game). That's where the fun begins. At night time, a team from Berryz Koubou, formed from two or three members, has to get into one building, then answer some questions there, then get into another building, answer some questions there and then go up to the second floor of the same building and pass yet another challenge.

First team to take the challenges was Saki and Momoko.

Momo-chan was very scared. It was very cute ^_^ she was holding Saki-chan's hand tight and Saki-chan was almost draging Momo-chan to the first building. I won't tell you what the challenges were to encourage you to watch it yourselves. ^_~

The second team was a three person team - it consisted of Risako, Maasa and Chinami. It was in the last episode of the 13th week, so I didn't get to watch what happened to them after the first challenge. I'm waiting now for the next batch, as I already said.

Also I watched a part of new episode of Haromoni@ but I didn't have time to watch it till the end, so I don't have any opinion as for this progam yet, but I can say that I liked it, and probably I'll start watching it, or even I'll start watching it from the very first episode, if I find it...

Later on, I watched last episode of Midtown TV Maru Maru Aikora Nama Yaguchi. It is really sad that the programm was closed. Even though I watched only four or five episodes, I kinda got attached to this programm. Because of this, I have started to download it from the first episode. I want to watch it all. ^_^

Still waiting for the concert Berryz Kamen vs Cutie Ranger. By the way Berikyuu! featured some backstage footage in the last three episodes of the 12th week. It was very interesting to watch, and I started to want to watch the concert even more after I've watched these footages...

By the way - the blue dresses that we can see on Berryz Koubou at the beginning and pink dresses that are on C-ute are great! Just to let you have a look at them, I'll post one of photos I have here.

This is my personal favorite photo because it has Risako and Airi on it ^_^

Also, after watching Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance PV again, I somehow started to like it... Ah well... I just like Berryz that much, I like everything they're involved in, though I must have some time to get adjusted to new things like this. ^_^

That's all for now, matta ne! ^^

As many of you may, or may not know...im hardcore obsessed with Big Brother. Have been since season 1. Im an all around reality nut. But when Big Brother comes on, my life comes to a halt and all i can do is watch the live feeds, or go on the message boards with my fellow big brother peeps. And Ive been going to this one board, RealityBBQ (link in right hand column as well...) for a looooong time now. Its the only site i ever really go to for Big Brother info. Not to mention just discuss my sick obsession with tons of other people who have the same "problem".

And every year right before the new cast is announced, everyone starts gearing up and heading back to the boards. Like school is back in session after a nice summer break. And this year, BBQ had the scoop first. From a poster named "CornerOfficeX". He posted the first known cast list and BBQ had the scoop first. THEN....suddenly the cast list showed up on the OTHER site....jokers. Im not even going to bother putting their url because i hate them so much and honestly just dont want to give them any kind of traffic in any way. Well jokers took the info from BBQ and put it on their own site...as if they found out all the info themselves. And whenever people tried to post on their message boards saying "this was found at reality bbq first"....their posts would be deleted and they would be banned. WTF? Yes...the words RealityBBQ and Reality BBQ were both marked as "spam" words and automatically deleted. And these are just a few of the messages that people got when they posted there trying to correct the source:

• The reason for this ban was: Bashing JU

• Your post in BBD has been deleted. BBQ Reality is a banned site here at Jokersupdates. Please refrain from talking about them on this board. Thank you!

• Your post's posted in BBD have been deleted. BBQ Reality is a banned site here at Joker's.
Cindy
JU Moderator

First of all...I find it hysterical that THEY cant even say Reality BBQ...because they will be marked as spam. So instead, call it BB Reality.

I get that people like to think they found info first. But give credit where credit is due. On BBQ, there is ALWAYS credit given to new info that is found and is posted. ALWAYS. Because BBQ is a quality site. But jokers on the other hand....TRA-SHY. They say they dont discuss our board because we are "allowed to bash Jokers".....well hellooooooo assholes..... no one would be trashing your board if you didnt STEAL whole articles and information and post them on your site as your own.

Lets see you delete THIS post. Douche bags.

If any of you want to get the live feeds this year when Big Brother starts...get it from Reality BBQ by clicking on the banner above. They really ARE a great site with a great community of people. And it will help them out if you get the feeds THROUGH them. Its the same exact price as if you would just go to real player and get them right from there. But youre supporting a great community of people. AND....if youve never gotten the big brother live feeds...oh what a treat you will be in for. i swear, chad needs to pull me away from it when it starts. Because i just cant stop watching those assholes floss their teeth and do the most mundane shit on the planet. Not to mention scheme and plot their way into insanity. GOD i cant wait to get on that damn show finally.

International conferences attract spies for the same reason hotel bars attract hookers: you can do b

International conferences attract spies for the same reason hotel bars attract hookers: you can do business and drink for free.

Another awesome episode. Let's start right off with the wonderful stuff that went on here:

Sam - finally he's having the FBI boys act they HE wants them to. He's found his proper role and he feels comfortable. This, obviously, also offers much more potential for him to actually be serious occasionally (very rarely, of course) - if he isn't almost all of the time, he seems all that much more convincing when he actually is. He's now his fun self, drinking, with a couple of irons in the fire (if you know what I mean) - that's the Sam we want to see, that's the same that makes this show a wonderful joyride, a very pleasurable experience.

Fiona and Michael - we're moving in pretty big steps right now. She's got a key and their relationship's almost back to where it's supposed to be. Also, none of those weaknesses we saw in the last episode. She's her usual strong self, forcing Michael to give it his best, show his true colours. Yeah, that's what we're paying for.

The Mom - still pisses me off. This episode also (kinda) announced the coming of Michael's brother, Nate. Don't particularly much like him either and it just goes to show that his family is less fun than the rest of the people Michael hangs out with.

Finally, the story. So much cool stuff going on here, I don't even know where to start. The fake surveillance tape - brilliant and seems pretty plausible. The fucking up of the car tyres - twice, no less! - great fun. Especially the second time.

Oleg seems like a nice guy. Well, not exactly a nice guy but a cool person to have on the show. Throw in some links to some kind of criminal organisation in his background and you've got a wonderful B-story over a couple episodes or a pretty great A-plot for an episode.

We get some major progress in terms of overall arc as well. Nice to see Michael finally getting somewhere - it's not much but it is a start. Something to follow up on. And unlike that pipe bomb which lead to a pretty useless call, this contact turns out to actually be useful.

This kind of episode is great to rewatch, too. You notice stuff that you had no idea was there the first time round. Take the sparks he steals in school - didn't notice the first time round but it's an amusing detail.

Bottom line: just an awesome episode. Progress on the main arc, a main story that works as a stand-alone episode, major development in terms of characters. What more could you ask for?

5/5

There have been two episodes of ABC's new show Wipeout. It reminds me of MXC, only unlike MXC, Wipeout is family friendly (more about MXC below). Episode three airs Tues, July 8, 8/7c. Check out the official website where you can watch episodes and get recaps. Wipeout Website See a video below of both shows to compare them.

Human cannonballs! Human pinballs! Crashes, smashes and mud splashes! Twenty-four thrill-seekers will compete in the world's largest extreme obstacle course designed to provide the most spills, face plants and wipeouts ever seen on television, in Wipeout, a painfully funny new reality series.

Each week 24 daring new contestants of all ages, shapes and sizes will go head to head through four rounds of grueling and physically demanding but wildly hilarious obstacle courses to win the title of Wipeout Championand the grand prize of $50,000. The contestants and the courses change every week, with over-the-top obstacles including "Dizzy Dummy" the "Dirty Balls" and "The Dreadmill" - which will have contestants jumping hurdles on a 40-foot long treadmill at warp speed. In the end, only one contestant will win, while everyone else will Wipeout! read more...

About MXC: In Japan from 1986 to 1989 there was a popular gameshow called 'Takeshi's Castle' where contestants have to run through obstacle courses. Often they ended up getting clobbered. MXC is a re-dubbing in English of that old show. It is funny but definitely not appropriate for kids (unless you turn the volume down all the way). The last new episode premiered in February 2007, and no word has been made at this time whether any more new episodes will be produced. On Spike, usually in the middle of the night, you can catch MXC.

Well, for some people summer is a great time to relax. I totally agree. Another thing that I love about summer, a lot of new TV shows and new seasons of the others.

These past few weeks, I spend a lot of time watching TV when I want to relax or just have nothing to do. And ever since I wrote about Japanese Game Show post and I saw how many people are actually have the same interest as me, I would like to share more about what I watch on TV.

I like funny tv shows, I watch American Funniest Home Videos and other similar programs. So, it's natural for me to like the japanese game shows on ABC. I don't watch MXC often though, because I just don't know when it's airing (I think it's usually in the afternoon, when I'm working). Other TV show that I currently watching is: The Mole (also on ABC). It's a show where a group of players compete and/or play as a team, and one of them is The Mole who will always try to sabotage every mission. The goal of the game is to figure out who's The Mole, and the player will the most knowledge about the mole will win in the end. It's on halfway of the game, only 6 players left. I think next Monday, it's gonna be a recap of the half season.

Another channel that I watch a lot is USA. I'm waiting for new seasons of Burn Notice, Monk and Psych. I like those 3 shows very much, and I do my best not to miss them. And if I do, I'll make sure watch it online :-P. I love action and I love comedy, so of those 3 my absolute fave is Burn Notice. I didn't watch the first season when it aired. But I got to watch one of the encore episode and fell in love. So I finished watching the first episode online and can't wait until next week when season 2 begins. It's a story about a spy who get fired, so he's trying to figure out what's going on while taking "part-time" jobs to help regular people in trouble.

When I'm in the mood for something more serious, I watch Law&Order and CSIs, but not very often. I also watch cartoon. I love watching The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, Naruto, Bleach, etc. I watch American Gladiator, and I will watch Olympics this coming August. Oh, and I also watch HGTV and Food Network for some ideas. Hmm, that's all the TV shows I watch, that I can think of now.

Hello there. It's the Jordyn. Did you know that a while back COOKIE MONSTER WAS TOTALLY ON THE COLBERT REPORT? Anyway, he was. And it was great.

Also yesterday at work one of the ladies who works there was singing Go Diego, Go! Because she has a two-year-old. And when you have or are around two-year-olds you're completely allowed to know the words to those kinds of songs. And even if you're not around two year olds, it's fine with me. Because I really love Bob the Builder. And Dora the Explorer. And Sesame Street. And THE BACKYARDIGANS. Oh, and Blues Clues. I mean, I don't watch them (except when I'm babysitting, of course), but I still love them.

Because I'm four years old, yup yup.

Also. Transition.

MY NOVEL. IS THE SUCK.

I have one page. Which I'm sure I'll end up deleting. Because it's really no good. I'm not sure how to tell this story; I mean, I know the theme and the general story I want to tell, I just don't know where to begin. Or what perspective to tell it from. Past tense? Present tense? (Because friendlies, I really love the present tense.) Past tense from ten years after the fact?

I HAVE NO IDEA.

AND I NEED HELP.

I walked into the writers' office yesterday and saw a ping pong ball and two paddles sitting on the assistant's desk.

I paused, staring at the ping pong ball.

This was one of those moments you see in indie movies, where the character is contemplating his life, but you don't know exactly what he's thinking because, you know, "show, don't tell." But, since this isn't a movie, I can tell you. I was thinking:

This is where I should be-- counting how many times I can bounce the ball while idly bullshitting with the other writers about whatever this week's story is. Then, suddenly, the story breaks, and we leap to our computers and start furiously pounding out the script.

Now, I know this isn't how it always works. Writing can be frustrating and dull and lonely. But it can also be engaging and exciting and social, in the right circumstances.

I told my wife about ping pong ball, and she rolled her eyes. "That's not really writing."

You see, my wife is under the misapprehension that "writing" consists of the time spent at the keyboard. In fact, she uses "writing" and "typing" interchangeably. "Do you do any good typing today, sweetie?"

She does this mostly because she knows it annoys me.

The truth is, there's much more to writing than the actual typing. An electrician's job is to light the set, but the entirety of his job is not encompassed in the moment he switches on the lamp. He has to lay cable, position the light, set the dimmer board.

When I'm playing Portal for the eighteenth time, or calling up friends, or just staring at the ceiling, I can see why that'd look like goofing off. What I'm really doing is laying cable.

Although, sometimes, I am just goofing off.

The idea of the show is for young readers and aspiring writers to gather and ask questions of a group of authors, in this case Darren Shan, Ruth Gilligan and myself (pictured left with the show's presenter Sinead Kennedy.) We each read from our novels as well.

A very enjoyable afternoon, livened up considerably by some very engaged and interesting young people. I'm not sure what date it's being broadcast yet but will post on the site when it is. Thanks to all the young readers who attended the filming for making the day so worthwhile.

Recently retired Hall-of-Fame-to-be-member Michael Strahan will be analyst for Fox Sports beginning this football season. But the personable former football star recently shot his acting debut for the NBC series, "Chuck."

In the episode, slated to air October 20, Strahan stars as rival electronic store manager Mitch who along with his staff hang out at the Buy Moore Home Theater Center. That leads to plenty bruised feelings and friction from Buy More's own Morgan. His only problem is that Mitch (Strahan) out weights him by over 100 pounds . . . and you know the rest.

Strahan's transition to acting comes as no surprise because of his warm, outgoing personality honed on the largest media stage in the country, New York City. We predict that this will be the first of many opportunities that Stray will have to see his name in lights. One word of advice - make sure to use GOOD judgment in the types of projects you pick.

Congratulations to one of my all-time favorite New York Giants; we're all going to miss you!

Here's another shot from Stray's acting debut.

Yesterday, Nathan wrote, "You want to write... write!" This is the best, most important advice any aspiring writer can get. But if you're sitting at a desk in Nome, Alaska, typing away on an Underwood by candlelight, filing your scripts in a drawer, you're not going to have a writing career.

There's an old saying that goes, "You're the average of the people closest to you." This is why I stopped working on shitty cable shows and direct-to-video movies. I took both a pay cut and a lower position so I could be on a real network show with real writers.

No, the show runner isn't going to ask the office PA to write an episode. However, WGA rules dictate that he has to ask someone who's not on staff at least twice a season. (The number is something like that, anyway; I can't find the exact rule, because when I google "WGA Rules," I get a bunch of old crap about the strike.)

Often, this means hiring the writers' PA, script coordinator, or even the executive producer's assistant. Basically, if they're going to hire someone, they want to hire someone who's sitting in the writers' room with them every day.

So, how do you get to be a writers' PA? Well, one way is to be an office PA, and hang out with the producer/writers down the hall. When the script coordinator becomes a real writer, the writers' assistant moves up to coordinator, the writers' PA moves up to assistant, and all of a sudden, there's an opening at the bottom.

That's my plan, anyway.

Most fun I've had in Miami.

Agreed. It was a fun episode - hot chicks abound, Fiona loses the accent (even though it's a bloody cute one!) and Michael gets one instead. A car gets blown up and the general story moves forward quite a bit even though not as much as it usually does.

Now, there's not much to be said in terms of character development. It is, in fact, a rather weak episode in that area. Sure, the Michael-Mum relationship gets closer to where it's supposed to be (but still not there yet) - unfortunately, she's still just an annoying, whiny bitch. We already know that Michael's a good guy at heart but seriously - he gets her back all her money and 500$'s too much to ask for?

The "I have some kind of illness" running gag doesn't work (and I don't really pay attention - IIRC they lose it somewhere, though). Fiona, OTOH, seems worse than she was in episode one. Totally not COOL, totally not RELAXED. Just like a teenager who's madly in love with Michael (in the relevant scenes). It's not what she's supposed to do. When acting like this, she leaves Michael alone and there's no partner to back him up.

Sam, finally, gets closer to where he's supposed to be. The underpants joke is obviously cringeworthy and that's why it works. He's far closer to his joyful, overconfident self than he was in the Pilot.

Enough about character development though. Let's talk about the narrative - and that's what's really in the foreground here. Michael's a really cool guy and this episode drives home that point - in addition to showing that he really, really, really is capable of doing evil things, if necessary. Obviously, that old lady truly needs to check herself into some place that her kids approve of - buying into that whole scam business is just so 20th-century (I'd say even then there was no excuse for it).

Luckily though, it offers the opportunity of showing real cool stuff. I'll just name a few of the things that really entertained me (and why they weren't necessarily perfect):

Fiona and Sam getting caught - that scene really worked, their infighting didn't

Michael figuring out that Paco didn't drink - even though his retelling just a moment later kinda ruined the scene as it no longer seemed terribly witty

Michael shooting the police car's tyres - plain fun

Michael ripping off blondie - it truly is the most fun we've had so far

As you can see from that list, it's a Michael-centric episode. Not necessarily in terms of character development (which is why he doesn't figure all that prominently above) but certainly in terms of showing the audience what he's capable of, driving home the point of his vulnerability and the reach of his abilities. Plus, the beginning of the awesome team that Sam, Fiona and Michael form.

As you can see from the length of this post, it wasn't a terribly deep episode. And I'm glad we'll start moving ahead a little faster in future episodes - because just one tidbit of information at the end of each episode just isn't going to cut it in the long run.

The bottom line: even though the review sounds quite negative, it's a great episode again. Not as brilliant as the pilot but considering it's the second episode (which usually appears to be quite a bit weaker) there's nothing much to complain about. It's fun watching stuff being blown up, it's fun watching the good guys beating the bad guys at their own game. In short: I love it when a plan comes together. ;)

June 2, 2008

Unfortunately I didn't actually get to see the show last night, so it makes it difficult to form opinions about the dances, unless the vids available on YouTube feature the before and after comments as well. So this weeks impressions will be a bit underwhelming. But yall may have felt my past posts were as well, lol, in which case, I'll be skating along just fine. Apparently last night's show featured two dances by each couple, so I'm doubly disappointed I missed it on my home TV screen.

Katee and Joshua, what can I say. LOVE them! They were lucky – unlucky?? – enough to get a Mia Michaels contemporary routine. Hey, she does beautiful stuff, but those routines are tough. Watching it on the YouTube, I was very impressed. Very emotional, a huge struggle between the two of them and they gave me tingles for miles. I did feel at a few points as if they weren't as "together" as they could be, the parts where it looked synchronized, but that may have been the whole point too, with the story being told. I will be very surprised if these two do not make it into the top four. So, lucky indeed, or just damn good dancing. Maybe both.

However, I would not have had the same thoughts if it was their west coast swing routine I'd seen first. Choreographed by Benji Shwimmer, I was expecting something VERY entertaining. I was shocked to see it was very painful to watch. From the glaring pink, pseudo cowboy outfit Katee wore, to their joint unenthusiastic dance moves, I was in a perpetual state of WTF the entire time. Meh. Still, I think they'll be back next week. Please, SYTYCD gods, let this not lead them into elimination. From the judges' pleased comments though, I may be in the minority on this one.

Chelsie and Mark's jazz routine by Mandy Moore was borderline okay and good. I think this couple has great chemistry, as one of the judges said. They're definitely a fun couple to watch, but I dunno...Moore's routines sometimes almost hit the mark, but don't quite. This one was one of those for me. I think Chelsie and Mark danced it okay as well. Hmmm, just okay I suppose. I do not think, however, it will hurt them in the voting at all. They'll be back next week.

Not sure that even their foxtrot routine will bring them down. God, I hated that dress she was wearing. It impeded a lot of her movements and it was hard to see what I'm almost sure were some nice moves. It looked like a blue Big Bird going across the stage. Wardrobe regrets. Many.

Kherington and Twitch. Hmmmm...they did a paso doble routine by Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin. As I watched, it felt like they were building up this energy and fire until they practically burnt up the stage. Loved the heaviness, almost rock quality of the music and their outfits really enhanced the entire performance as well. Yeah, it probably could have been danced a bit better, but heck, I was entertained. Did you catch Nigel's dig about how Kherington didn't smile too much?

Their other routine was a contemporary by Mia Michaels. Hmmmm, lol. Well, what can I say. I felt like I was in their bedroom, an invisible third partner in their very private moment. I know it may sound prudish and I can't believe this was my first impression, but man, I didn't want to see some of that. If the bed hadn't been there...maybe I'd feel different. I dunno, beautiful yet I just couldn't shake that peeping tom feeling. gain, the judges loved it though so I'm probably in the minority on this one too.

Courtney and Gev's hip hop routine was so much fun! Choreographed by Olisa Thompson and Cicely Bradley and they did a good job. LOVED the song even! One of my faves. Just an all around fun, entertaining routine that you just have to save and watch over and over. I think they could easily be becoming one of my favorite couples this season. I found it really humorous at this point that I'm mostly liking what the Judges didn't and vice versa.

Their Broadway routine by Andy Blankenbuehler was...ehhh, it was okay. I love musicals and plays and such, but it's hard for me to get into these single routines on this show. I love going to see the musical, getting that buildup from beginning to end, the entire experience. Not so much a fan of it on this smaller stage.

Comfort and Thayne's waltz was surprisingly ethereal, with an almost fairy tale-esque vibe. I saw the set-up at first, the lights and all and thought it would be too easy to compare it to Kherington and Twitch's Viennese waltz a couple of weeks ago, and therefore find fault with this one. However, I found it pretty much stood well on its own. Loved it.

Now...shock me shock me, but I actually was able to get into their Broadway routine. I'm sure it was the fact that they used the West Side Story influence, a show I'm very familiar with via the classic movie. I really think they are a much better pair than their previous partners and was really pleased to see each coming more alive, especially Comfort. I'll sound contradictory now, but I agree with Nigel in the sense that, compared to that wonderful West Side story itself, the passion and movements could've been jazzed up a lot more. But for these two dancers, I think it showed growth in what they are trying to accomplish on the show. I don't know that it will keep them out of the bottom tonight though.

Kourtni and Matt were just okay for me tonight. Their hip hop routine was sentimental and sweet, but just didn't jive with me the way Courtney and Gev's did.

I love Latin dance and Kourtni and Matt's mambo routine, choreographed by Alex Da Silva was almost maybe spot on for me. It needed a bit more heat, more tight...Latin steps (lol, my no dance knowledge is showing). I hate it, but I think this couple will be in the bottom tonight, dancing for their SYTYCD lives.

Jessica and Will's jazz routine by Moore was erotically and evocatively fabulous. See, I think if Kherington and Twitch's routine had been more like this, I wouldn't have felt apart from it all. With them, acting out their passion in this way, I felt invited in and not such a peeper. I think I have to crown this one of my favorites of this week. If only Jessica would dance like this ALL the time!

Their jive routine by Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin was cute. Then it was WOW! That flip they did and the following undulating body move was very cool and finally moved the routine into...wow category lol. I don't think any other jive routine will top Anya and Danny's for me from last season, but this one was a lot of fun. Well done.

As anybody who's been reading this blog for any amount of time knows, I love The X-Files. I'm absolutely out of my mind crazy impatient for the new movie to hit theaters this month and I will be there when it premieres at my local theater. There is no way I'm waiting for the second showing. I'll be there alone if I have to.

I'm still in love with The X-Files but I'm also looking forward to a new show that I can only describe as "The X-Files on crack". It premieres in September, it's co-created by J.J. Abrams, and the $10,000,000 pilot episode has been leaked (though I really think it was intentional).

From what I can tell, this show is well on it's way to being one of my favorites. It's got just about everything in it that I loved about The X-Files. There's a mythology, the FBI is involved, and there's science (yes, I'm a geek and proud of it).

I'm not going to give any spoilers for the pilot, but I'm so going to pimp this show until it premieres (and probably throughout the first season). Keep your eye out for news about it and as we get closer to September I'll be sure to remind you to set your DVRs and VCRs (if you still have one) to record this show. And obviously if I find out any interesting information I'll be passing it along to you.
