Uranus represents the rebel and the humanitarian. It’s the higher octave of Mercury, representing higher ideals. It's the archetype for creative, original ideas and thinking outside the box, also for rebelling against limitations, insisting on freedom and being humane toward others.

The very grounded Saturn archetype represents structure, practicality, dependability, reliability, loyalty and authority.

These slow moving planets are in positions opposite each other and the degree will be exact November 2nd, 3rd and 4th. So fasten your seat belts. These two will repeatedly oppose each other over the next few years, setting the stage for rebellion and restructure.

I’m not suggesting that we have no choice in the matter. We face choices everyday. The astrological weather just shines a light on issues needing attention. If the issues don’t exist, nothing shows up in the spotlight.

Remember the 60's?... No?... Well, Saturn (let's get real) and Uranus (change) were opposing each other then too...... Power to the Peeps.

Most of us are struggling with issues regarding our homes and the structure of the institutions on which we've depended: banks, schools, government, etc.  We do need inventive solutions, higher ideals, creative grass roots endeavors and restructuring of our systems and the way we live.

This oppositional vibration can play out in our daily routines as well. It’s important to pay close attention when driving, be aware of what we’re doing when multitasking and in general be alert. “Expect the unexpected” is the current watch phrase. We may all of a sudden find ourselves opposing an authority figure like a traffic cop (oh, I hate when that happens), or school principal, supervisor, boss, coach, parent, spouse, etc.  Or maybe we are the authority figure dealing with that no good slacker underling (a little dramatic license).

Uh..... either way... think "inventive solutions and higher ideals".  Peace

Ok, that was my juvenile lead-in for my Saturn saga. Witty wasn't it? Well, I thought it was, but then Im still a fan of bathroom humor.

Now. About my Saturn. Ive only had this car since February. Its a little gem of a car, its so smart it reminds me when to get my oil changed and when something is wrong with the car anywhere. It has a brain! No seriously, it does! All its maintenance and functionality are tied into the brain. It also has built in security. Its impossible to steal. I found this out the hard way when my daughter tried to borrow the car (with permission!) and it wouldnt start, nor would the ignition release the key! So I came out to help and couldnt get the key to turn...I reasoned that if I could get the key out of the ignition, I would be able to get into the trunk where the battery is to get a jump. Well. 3 hours later, a tow truck took it to my hometown mechanic, who was able to order a replacement ignition assembly (price: $400) from the nearest Saturn dealer (2 hrs away!). When it came, it was a big rigamarole to get the key coded to match the ignition sequence. Not only that, but I am now on file at Saturn's main HQ as the owner of that ignition. and key. for 4 years! (cost: $300 labor / locksmith fees)

Anyway, once the ignition was installed, and the key coded, we all thought "problem solved!" WRONG! The car's "BRAIN" needed to be reprogrammed all over again. This takes a special tool called a TECH 2. Which my friendly neighborhood mechanic didn't have. A hasty call to the Dealership 2 hrs away revealed that the car needed to be serviced by a GM dealer who has the TECH 2. Fortunately, the dealership where I bought it has such a tool but they are an hour away. A phone call to a local towing company solved that problem, and this morning, my lovely gem was towed (cost: $160) to the dealership. I was given an estimate of $130 for the programming. I am now out a cool Thousand dollars (give or take $10), and its not done yet because......

........the dealership calls me and says they cant get the key to turn. They call the Saturn dealer 2 hrs away and talk them into sending a new ignition BUT they will only send it to the same mechanic who installed the first one!!! ARRRRGH!!!!! I was reassured that I would not be paying for the new ignition nor the installation nor the possible cost of towing if my hometown mechanic cant convince Saturn to send the new ignition to the Dealership where the car now resides.

As I go to bed tonight, I realize that there is a cosmic joke being played on me. I just cant decide if Saturn or Uranus will have the last laff......

Introduction

The configurations in the sky do not affect one nation, or one people. The patterns in the celestial sphere create and destroy patterns which are copied on Planet Earth with the simple determinism of seeds being planted on fertile ground germinating and producing fruit. They impel of course they impel, but when a seed is planted, watered and given the right amount of sunlight, nutrition, and warmth, it is fairly easy to say that you will be reaping what you have sown. This article is interested in finding out whether the heaven's seed are about to fall on stony ground, and whether those seeds might just contain a few weeds among them.

The Last Ideology:1966

Now, down to business. Uranus and Pluto were conjoined in longitudinal degrees during the late 1960's everyone knows this and a few people may also be aware that they were simultaneously opposed by a beleaguered Saturn in Pisces and eventually given a winning hand from Jupiter as he traversed late Virgo after that opposition. The Ideology however, is what we are after. Several ideological structures came out of the late 1960's which were previously not in circulation. Some of the things which are thought of as being created during that era are women's power, as well as civil rights for minorities. These are big things, big ideas with big laws that were passed in order to support those people, and there is nothing wrong there as far as I can see. This was one of the great movements of progress of the 20th Century. 1966 marks the T-Square of these planets with Jupiter sadly detrimented in Gemini, with Saturn in Pisces and with Uranus and Pluto conjoined in Virgo. It is this moment in time which has been the beginning of the Era of late 20th Century and early 21st Century, politics, and social modes existence, the social rules were in effect changed in 1966, which does mark the watershed moment.

Why was this ideological structure developed in the way it was? The reason is not in the noble ideas of equality and dignity of humanity, nor in the progression of the rights of anyone, but in the power structure of Empire. The real motivating force for these changes was historical. For an empire to exist there needs to be social cohesion. Social cohesion in the Western World was only possible through these bills of rights and social movements, which were in effect damaging to the structures of traditional Religion, signified by Jupiter in Gemini being defeated by the other stronger planets in materialistic and analytical Virgo, and a Saturn in Pisces which is reminiscent of power structures that are torn in two directions.

In essence the 1966 alignment allowed for social cohesion and the economic freedom in vast untapped numbers of the Western population, namely women's economic power, befitting the Virgo symbolism of a Woman associated with service and harvest. the main focus of Virgo is that everything has a place and a worth, and the simple economics of this placing has allowed the economic materialism due to the nature of the Earth element to empower a Western Empire which is constant in its adaptation and has no centralised power structure but various co-operating structures, which again is part of the nature of those three mutable signs, Pisces, Virgo and Gemini, with emphasis on materialism and Mercurial thought over the Piscean and Sagittarian belief, sacrificed for the economic power structure. And all of course based on that key logical yet completely anti-spiritual Ideology of the 1966 T-Square.

Note: Although Neptune is not directly involved in the T-Square aspect pattern, Neptune however, does confer its particular power from Scorpio, and this is where the association of the 'sixties with Sex and Sexual Revolution comes from, due solely to Neptune in Scorpio, nothing to do with Mars, or Pluto. The Neptunian energy manifests itself mainly in music, art and cultural pursuits including drugs.

Ideology formed and given power: 1931

Now we go one more step back in the 20th Century, we come to the ideology which was formed and crystallised in 1931. How can you not look to Germany? Saturn, Pluto and Uranus were T-Square in Cardinal signs during this year with the Sun conjoining as close a matrix as possible on July the 13th of that year. Now the Sun in this aspect pattern gives the show a big star. Most people will immediately say, Adolf Hitler!! Ah, what intuition! But they would be wrong the heavens have scattered several big stars all across the globe, certainly he was one of the stars of that Era, but we have other big house hold names like Roosevelt, Stalin, Churchill, all of which actually managed to hold power in their own countries for as long as Mr Hitler, if not a lot longer. These men were all sensitive Cancerian types, Father figures who were fighting for the preservation of their homelands. Can you get a better description of Pluto conjunct Sun in Cancer?

So, what was the ideology which existed between 1931 and 1966? This ideology was based on the darkness of Saturn in Capricorn and the impulse of destruction and creation, of Uranus in Aries.  Even after the War, it was the "Cold War" a rather befitting term for Saturn in Capricorn, whose nature inclines towards low energy, though with a tenacity and talent for persistence and survival. The Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall are powerful symbolism of this placement, how much more evidence is needed to show that the Era of thirty five years was commenced in 1931, even after the demise of the fascist Bogey man of all time.

Note: Mars, although not directly involved in the T-Square aspect pattern is however, powerfully connected in virgo with Sun, Saturn and even Uranus through an Inconjunct aspect. Mars although outside of the matrix which is the Era creation is however so involved that it is impossible to separate his energetic and agressive influence. Indeed looking at History it is easy to see how Mars even in 1931 in this aspect grid was influencial, with Uranus in Aries, it is necessary to view the dispositor, Mars.

1903 (note: not a Saturn configuration, though still powerful technologically)

This year is also a marker of Uranus-Pluto forming a T-Square with another outer planet, Jupiter. This is though, an exception to the Ideological Structures and 1903 really belongs to the matrix of 1851. Because this is Jupiter it is not the powerful social rule creating, politically fueled force that involves Saturn. On September the 12 1903, the Sun plugs into this T-Square to form a grand cross. 1903 is significant for other reasons. Shortly after the Grand Cross of September the 12, Orville Wright makes the first combustion engine powered flight, the USA begin to expand with the instigation of rebellion and eventual control of Panama. During this period Edward VII became King of England and Emperor of the British Empire, so 1903 loosely coincides with the transferal of power, though for the true ideological Era it is necessary to look back further.

1851

The 24th of October 1851 marks the beginning of an Era which ended not in 1903, but in 1931, this is a period of eighty years. The T-Square of 1851 is a bit of an understatement. In the early degrees of Taurus and late Aries a stellium lined up to include Pluto, Saturn and Uranus. This alone marked the beginning of an Era, the beginning of an ideology and the chronocrator of a time period which saw the height of the British Empire and the almost total domination in true Taurus style of most of the world's land mass by one Empire. On the other side of this stellium is to be found another stellium of Moon, Sun, Jupiter, and Venus. Those personal planets signify a family united under a bright star a king and emperor in the most powerful sign at the first degree of Scorpio symbolising the beginning the Empire. Mars of course in the sign of Leo shows that it was the Nation whose symbol of military strength was indeed three Lions and has Lion imagery in every crest and seal.

Ideologically the period starting in 1851 was one in which the Fixed signs dominated, with Scorpio and Taurus as feminine signs of both power and cultural creation it was a time in which a strict code of law was in force, a cultural ideology based on wealth and industrial power took hold, the rise of a bourgeois middle class with great power in not only the British houses of Parliament, but in the nations of Europe and America as well as in Asia with Japanese imperialism based on industrial and monetary growth. There is nothing that symbolises this as a time marker more than the opening of THE GREAT EXHIBITION OF THE WORKS OF INDUSTRY OF ALL NATIONS in the Crystal Palace, Hyde Park in of course London, which ran for most of that year.

The accepted norms of society though are what we are looking for, the equivalent of 1930's Fascism and 1960's Feminism was 1850's, this is an Era which is determined by strict social rules and stability, by respect for tradition, by love of culture, of literature, music, and religion, with the Uranus, Pluto and Saturn Stellium between the last degree of Aries and the early degrees of Taurus. The Scorpio inner family symbolised a unity of a central family which could not be better described better than by the enduring family of Queen and Empress Victoria at the centre of this Ideology, and not surprising that it is now known as the "VICTORIAN AGE."

Note: Neptune is connected to this aspect pattern, though slightly wide from making a sextile to Pluto and Saturn, it does slide into a wedge with Uranus and the family of inner planets in Trine on the other side. So to note, some of the greatest cultural achievements in Literature, Art and Music were achieved during this Era. Even beginning in the 1850's Dickens was writing his great works, as were the other great authors and composers of the second half of the 19th Century. That Pisces Neptune must be interpreted in terms of spiritual accompaniment durning this period, great Religious fervour and belief, in spite of the developing ideas of the times like Darwinism, Marxism and Science. This Neptune in Pisces as always symbolises two fish swimming in opposite directions, two fish who both have belief, and in retrospect these fish are both Religions and Sciences.

1819

On the 17th December 1819 a Square took place involving Pluto and Saturn in Pisces, (Chiron also) with Uranus and Neptune forming a stellium with Sun and Moon in Sagittarius. There are some ways in which this was a greater Era creator than the 1851 alignment. Namely Neptune is involved in the alignment, though the energy and buoyancy of Jupiter and Mars are omitted with the result that this alignment was in many ways a silent, velvet revolution in World Thought. There are numerous world writers who were born during this period, Fyodor Dostoevski, Anne Bronte, and George Eliot as well as Charles Dickens give or take a couple of years are a few, and the writings which they eventually wrote were highly religiously inclined with huge spiritual involvement, all due to the effect of this Pisces, Sagittarius alignment.

Some events of this alignment are the beginning of George IV's reign, as well as the end of the Napoleonic Wars with a return to the traditional establishment, to the traditional mode of belief, which the French Revolution as well as the American Revolution had threatened. South America became a free enterprise in the year 1819 with the proclamation of Gran Colombia.

1792

This year is very different from all other alignments of the nature which are under scrutiny in this article. The planets Uranus, Pluto along with Sun-Moon conjoining in Sagittarius on the 13th December of 1792 form a Kite aspect pattern. This alone fulfils the criteria of a powerful aspect pattern involving the said planets although the sextiles are fairly weak on there own they are in a powerful alignment. To note also, Jupiter forms a T-Square with the Pluto-Uranus opposition though does not link up with Saturn.

The events of the years between 1792 and 1819 are well chronicled. Franch becomes a scene of Revolution, with much upheaval and bloodshed, it also forges ahead with new ideas and experiments with different forms of governance but does inevitably become an Atheistic Empire on the rampage under Napoleon Bonaparte.

But of course the events in the Heavens were not just taking place over France. Britain and Germany saw a cultural revolution in the name of a Poetic movement now known as ROMANTICISM. And not only were these poets writing their subversive texts, there really was fear in the rest of Europe of Revolution taking place because of the unparalleled social change of this Era. The Kite formation is a pattern which is made for movement, for travel and like the actual physical kite its symbolism can be seen in this period in the name of great movement, upheaval and excitement, as if whole nations were able to fly and metaphorically, France did just this.

1649

The only true link up between Uranus, Pluto and Saturn with an acceptable orb and acceptable strength of power took place in 1648 and 1649 and involved Uranus in conjunction with Neptune on 27th February 1649. Saturn, True Node and Pluto were conjoined together in Gemini in opposition with the Uranus and Neptune placement in Sagittarius. The Sun and Mercury formed a Grand Cross with Moon and Mars in opposition in Virgo.

1649 begun the Era which lasted until 1819. This period of time was begun with the execution of King Charles I, the killing of the King, God's representation on Earth had never been done before, but was done by Parliamentarians, whose logic was founded in the power of Pluto conjunct Saturn in Gemini. It is hard going back so far to make an estimation of the cultural and social values of this time period. During this period John Milton was writing Paradise Lost and supporting Republicanism, in an age of total Monarchy.

The Grand Cross in mutable signs confers a great struggle between on the one hand Gemini materialism and logical thought and on the other side Sagittarian orthodoxy. This is a struggle which lasted until 1819 which seems to have marked a brief period of all embracing Religious Faith until the 1851 alignment.

Greetings, Earthlings! Call me Zontar.

Of first priority, I would most humbly like to thank Ms. Monkey for allowing me this exalted venue to make a very important announcement.

Zontar the Magnificent (this is where my blog is), your ever faithful scribe has in the past been merely an observer of the machinations and follies of the events on your fair planet Earth. Zontar, however, feels he must now take bold action. Upon observing the very negative campaigning occurring in the "United" States for the current election, Zontar wishes to declare his intention to run for president!

I know all of my faithful minions from my own blog will be delighted to hear this news and will vote for me with no questions asked. It is incumbent upon me, in order to achieve victory, to give you Zontar's campaign platform in this very fine blog of Ms. Monkey.

For those who don't know me, I hail from Xenon which is a galaxy 12,000,000,000,000,002 light years from Earth. Zontar is eligible constitutionally to be president as Xenon was made a protectorate of the "United" States during the incumbency of Gerald Ford.

Don't write me any letters! I know what you are thinking. "Zontar", I hear you say, "This is absurd! You are an alien! How can you understand the problems of a (mostly) human country?"

Fear not, future faithful minion. I can assure you there is ample precedent. Simply look at history.

That is correct, oh ye of little faith. Abraham Lincoln, arguably the greatest president was actually a cyborg hailing from Uranus. During the 19th century, this tidbit was swept under the rug. But all Xenonians are very knowledgeable about this. The fable of his assassination at the hands of the mad actor Booth is a complete fabrication. What happened was his unstable wife through a glass of Big Red at him after a particularly heated argument. This caused him to short circuit. There was no cabal involved at all. It was just a marital spat.

Even in our own time there is proof that Aliens have been deeply involved in politics. It is well known that the neocon aliens endorsed George W. Bush:

Perhaps the most astonishing revelation of all is the fact that the current vice-president, Mr Richard Cheney, is an interloper from beyond the Milky Way.

This is certainly not hard to believe given the evil which he hath wrought upon the world. He was born on the Planet Fellatio and it is well known who malevolent and bad-tempered Fellatians are. Thank Allah he will soon be on the street in January.

But Zontar is not about finger pointing about others wrong doings. Nay! Zontar is benevolent and wise and is all about Change! Change we can believe in!

But what are Zontar's stands on the issues? Why should I vote for him, I hear you thinking.

The reasons are sundry and overwhelming.

The most important reason is that Zontar is a good family man who has old fashioned family values. As an example I give you a picture of the most recent child which was given birth by his beloved daughter wife Placenta.

Among Zontar's other accomplishments, are that he was co-chairman of the PTA (Parent Teacher Alien) association in Xenonia and later mayor of that fair city. While mayor Zontar made many fine executive decisions such as which books to ban and how much of a bounty to place of wolves legs.

The greatest reason to vote for Zontar is of his sacrifice for his planet of Xenon. During the Third interplanetary war between Xenon and Fellatio, Zontar was taken prisoner. He was tortured twice daily upon the electric chair

and inhumane toilet practices

Zontar would not give in to his captors. He would not divulge any military secrets until the second day of captivity.

Zontar is an intergalactic hero. Zontar is a maverick.

To make sure you can trust this ticket, Zontar is nominating himself as vice-president.  Xenonians have a unique self cloning feature which comes in very handy.

So on election day, I want ya to ask yourself this question. Do you want four more years of Bush as represented by Mr. McCain?

Or do you really want a president who is a tax and spend liberal who will enslave you to his communist belief system and send you to a gulag prison camp if you disagree with him?

I think you know the answer my friends. On November 4th, as you enter the voting booth, make your choice for Change, Truth and the American Way!

Elsewhere Astrobarry discusses the Saturn-Uranus opposition, which is now apparently within a 5-degree orb and hence officially in force.

An opposition is exactly what is sounds like - on the current astrological chart, Saturn and Uranus are opposite each other. The effects of an opposition are, too, as you would expect - the two energies are literally opposing, or pulling against each other.

To me, Saturn is 'the rules' planet - work hard to reap rewards, put in necessary effort, look at the big picture, grow and progress according to lessons learnt. Uranus, however, is more of a maverick energy - calling on us to ring in big changes, bring on the new world, shuck off ritualistic behaviours, defy cultural norms.

With these two energies opposed, is it surprising, then, that I am ever-more-aware of the huge discrepancy between the-world-and-my-life-as-I-want-it and the-motions-through-which-I-am-forced-to-go-through? I guess not.

Of course the impact of this may be heightened or lessened depending on where these energies are 'hitting' areas in my own natal chart. Investigating this could well be my next project...

I agree with you regarding the downfall of the stock markets worlwide after 15.12.08.
But I feel Pluto is not the only planet which will make the storms, because Saturn opposing Uranus is also a major event. Please correct me, if I am wrong,because I am at a learning stage only.
In Vedic Astrolgy (Nirayana system), Jupiter will enter Capricorn in the first week of Dec, 2008 , which is another factor for the market fall .In 2009, Uranus will be opposite Saturn, and square to Pluto.

Absolutely true, actually the window at the top of the blog is a snapshot of the Dow's natal chart.

I'm also glad you brought up Vedic astrology which is very different from western/tropical astrology. I studied Vedic astrology for a while in an attempt to try to fortify my knowledge. It also interested me because Vedic astrology was geared toward predictive work where western/tropical astrology is often humanistic and less predictive.

After working with the Vedic system for a couple of years and researching, reading and using it, I ultimately found it to be so fundamentally different than western/tropical it just confused things for me. I think as an astrologer its important to find a system that works for you and stick with it.

You pointed out other aspects that are going on at the same time validating the conclusions that I have come to. After talking with hundreds of astrologers over the years, I've found this to be common. We all have our own ways of coming to conclusions, often focusing on different planets, but somehow we usually come up with similar conclusions. This is because there are patterns, and multiple roads to the same answers. The most important thing about astrology is following your intuition and letting the charts speak to you, after getting to know the basics.

Actually, I'm a little fuzzy about all these hullabaloo. You see, the information I'm reading were from Wikipedia which can be quite unorganised from one topic, it would jump to another.

Lets say Christians believe moral values are further eroded in 2012 while the scientific community predicted a 12th planet would be extremely friendly to our planet Earth.

The confusion/religious topics aside, a big planet named Nibiru would pass by Earth and cause major problems. Much bigger than the possible economic woes we are about to face.

Humongous planets, generate humongous amounts of gravitational pull.
This is where things gets a little bit interesting... In 1982, astrologers reported that something is distorting the orbits of Uranus and Neptune. Something unseen far from the reaches of Pluto (Back then, Pluto IS a planet) is causing this.

Hmm...if the Moon itself could influence the tides or our ocean, what about Nibiru? :)

This is where religion enters the gallery.
Perhaps, Nibiru was the cause of the Great Flood that occurred in our holy scriptures (Quran and Bible)?
Huge earthquakes would occur too might add. Think about it. A huge gravitational pull we are talking about. Of course it would tear our Earth apart.

Thinking about it, it maybe possible. I need to read the Islam's Noah's ark further on how many days and nights it took.

This topic is a huge controversy actually as Mayans, a civilisation existing 6000 years ago predicted this event yet we only discovered it in 2003.

There was a huge event being put on by HELCO a company with which I have many qualms with, above and beyond the fact that I have to write them a check every month. Included in the festivities was a competition involving the surrounding school's robotics clubs! Yes, ROBOTICS CLUBS. Hawai'i's high schools and middle schools have fucking robotics clubs. I'm more than a little jealous. They had a stand set up for the Hilo High Robotics Club program called Camp Eureka. Its a camp geared towards teaching kids how to program and build robots, more specifically its great to help prepare students interested in entering Lego based competitions such as the FIRST Lego League (FLL). I would have signed up in a heartbeat, if it wasn't meant for kids grades 3-6. Not sure why that should prevent me from joining. I'll just lie and say i have that wacky Robin Williams aging disease.

Near their information stand there was a large crowd gathered and as I got closer I saw a good sized arena laid out on the ground. Teams from various schools were gathered around the outside with large remote controls and robots were whizzing around inside moving colored blocks into goals placed around the outer edges of the court. They were competing in a game called BotBall which has to be one of the most fun looking extracurricular activities I have ever seen. Where the hell was I in middle school when all this was going on? Or was it? I have no idea but I feel like I somehow missed out.

Shortly afterward while I was on my way out I saw a young girl wearing this shirt. It made me smile.

Natal Chart Analysis

McCain has Libra rising with 1st house ruler Venus placed in its Fall in Virgo in the 12th house. This is a very poor placement for the individual person. However, this Venus is in Mutual reception with Mercury. Which means that much of the trouble is averted and the poor placement of Venus is greatly elevated. In some respects this is a fine combination because Mercury in Libra will consider and be very diplomatic, while Venus in Virgo will have an excellent grasp of the facts while also being a very good analyst.

One thing that is interesting with McCain's chart is the position of Uranus in Taurus, the planet's supposed Fall sign. This is in line with the conservative nature of the man although it does not deny him Uranian characteristics, because his natal Sun is in a trine with the planet. Venus's opposition of Saturn from the natal sixth house is a sign of steadfastness and solidness. Generally this is a very hard aspect signifying toughness in love, and a cold unfeeling nature. The Capricorn Moon confirms this.

Barack Obama has a dignified Saturn and a dignified Sun. Chart ruler is Uranus and Saturn. Uranus is placed in Leo, which is its detriment. These two planets are inconjunct, which is a powerful sign that Obama is able to link up traditional forces with forward thinking and a changing world. Obama has natal Sun placed in the 6th house square Neptune, G.W. Bush has Sun square Neptune. So let's not fool ourselves into believing that Mr Obama is any less capable of deception, or being deceived by forces and powers, (Neptune in Scorpio in 9th house of politics,) which may want to use him for their own ends.

Mars and War

Both Obama and McCain have a prominent Mars. McCain has Mars placed in the 10th house which reverberates with his military background. That Mars is also in an exuberant trine with Sagittarius Jupiter and a tense square with Uranus. If elected McCain may see more hostile action as the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth.

Obama's natal Mars is placed in Virgo (like G.W. Bush) but it is strongly held in check by a very strong Saturn trine in Earth signs. The only other possible problem for Obama's Mars is the semi-square with that Scorpio Neptune. There could be actions which are taken on misinformation or for the wrong reasons again. Obama's Mars is placed in the Angular 7th house making it accidentally dignified, yet it is also fairly close to the cusp of the 8th house signifying actions which bring about death and destruction. Either way, both charts pose their own particular set of circumstances and problems.

This day, this season, is when I feel the energy of planting seeds.  What I begin will show me its harvest six months from now, around the time of the Spring Equinox.

As I reflect over the past year, and particularly over the last seven years relative to transiting Saturn as it aspects my natal Moon, I feel my completion on many levels.  I have felt the "cycles within cycles," more palpable than I can ever remember feeling them before.  I attribute this to my deep dive into the realms of astrology and the Divine Beauty of Great Mystery...and with that, my activation of a more conscious participation with my relationship to It and Me.

This past year has felt like a grand culmination of my entire life, my first 47 years.  My mantra has been about letting go, releasing, endings, death.   While my natal Moon/Jupiter in Sag holds the space of optimism for me, my enthusiastic and expanding place of vision and possibilities, it has been challenging to manifest the new, fiery creative impulse bubbling up inside of me, not quite ready to come to a boil.  I'm excited to taste that full heat and I know it is arriving soon...very soon!

For now, the message has been about freedom (Uranus), about a reclamation of my Feminine Power (Venus Return) and about taking the elixir I have distilled (Pluto), out into a larger community (Jupiter/AC Cap and Venus Return/MC, Mercury).  I look forward to sharing my medicine with you!

Soulmates?

I believe that these are probably the most quested for types of horoscopes which can be cast. To cast your own chart and to interpret it is one thing. If you know the time and believe it to be accurate, then all you have to do is to work it out and nod your head when you realise what you are, accept the faulty nature which is no fault of your own, and move on to trying to work with it.

But when there is someone that you know 100% that you love and that you are made for each other, it doesn't really matter what interpretation you get, if it's not the one that says you should stay together until the End of the Age, then it is obviously wrong. It is wrong, of course it's wrong, how can some random Astrology tell you about how you feel about someone when it doesn't even have feelings of its own.

There probably are some good relationships out there somewhere in the blue yonder, somewhere, there are people who find their happiness, all they do though is keep it secret. But it can happen and is destined to happen for those that believe in it, for those that seek and never give up hope.

Natal Chart vs. Synastry

Part of the parcel of course is that, written in every person in the Natal chart is a picture. This picture can say whether relations with other people, will be positive, or negative, whether they will encounter opposition, or whether they will encounter amiability. If the ruler of the natal 7th house is debilitated or weak, judge accordingly, all relations with regard to intimacy will involve a weak or debilitated person.

If the ruler of the Ascendant is joined happily with the ruler of the 7th, if the ruler of the 7th is placed in the 1st or the ruler of the 1st placed in the 7th, then the native will find contentment with a their significant other. These are the lectures of William Lilly. But this is a gross simplification. I use it simply to identify that some of the natural tendencies within an individual are already set, and that whatever synastry chart or composite chart they can find through someone else, that individual is set up for certain relationships from birth.

Instead of looking for certain things in a synastry or in a composite chart, you should look for the relationships which are destined in your natal chart. I don't believe that it is necessary to have the same relationships throughout life, I don't believe in the psychological model of the parental and familial relationships being repeated, at great cost and misery to any one particular person. Those individual relations are one-offs like every relation.  the point of them is to accept them, integrate them in your life, however distinct from what you crave and want, and then set out to find someone that is different, because life is about gathering up different experiences.

There may well be similarities between what you experienced as a child and what you experience as an adult with other adults. But it will not be the same, the same patterns do not have to be repeated. There is one house which signifies parents, one house which signifies siblings, one house that signifies extended family, and another entirely different house that signifies relationships.

I think that parallels are important in synastry and in a natal chart. The 7th house and its signifier must have some similarities with the overall nature of the person that you are interested in. They must in some way fulfil the destiny of that planet, of that house, and the aspects of that planet and its house.

MEANING

If you have ever read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley you will know that to have perfect and easy relationships and lives is to never learn anything and never acquire knowledge and human understanding. But that is not to say that in order to live a meaningful life you must suffer all the way through it. Just that you can only measure the successes and the happy times with the seemingly infinite times of failure, solitude and misery.

Some Pointers to Positive Synastry

There is no such thing as the perfect chart. But these things should be sought after rather than using aspects in order to reject someone. Compatibility is one thing, but there is also such a thing as having someone that is different to yourself and who can encourage you to experience different things.

Venus signifies love, and attraction, it is so obvious. Venus - Sun in aspect, this is the aspect that you should look for, all other aspects are just inferior.

The Descendant: The Descendant has as its natural ruler Venus, and is the traditional house of your intimate love. So what you need here is Venus - Descendant aspects, and by its very nature, Venus - Ascendant aspects, but especially Venus conjunct the Descendant.

Mars signifies sex, interestingly Mars is the natural ruler of the Ascendant and 1st house. Mars in harmonious aspect must be present to bring heat and warmth, its nature is of fire, this makes for passion.

Then Saturn, the other traditional malefic. Saturn allows things to last. A relationship is based on time spent together, and Saturn is Cronus. Saturn by its nature is in exaltation in the 7th sign Libra, the sign of the marriage and partnership. Saturn brings stability to people's lives and permanence. Harmonious Saturn aspects are wanted.

Jupiter is important for Faithfulness. Jupiter in aspect will make things feel good.

Pluto. Pluto is about manipulation and attraction as well.

Here are some facts about the solid ice I took from Science Daily.

Through first-principle molecular dynamics simulations, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory scientists, together with University of California, Davis collaborators, used a two-phase approach to determine the melting temperature of ice VII (a high-pressure phase of ice) in pressures ranging from 100,000 to 500,000 atmospheres.

For pressures between 100,000 and 400,000 atmospheres, the team, led by Eric Schwegler, found that ice melts as a molecular solid (similar to how ice melts in a cold drink). But in pressures above 450,000 atmospheres, there is a sharp increase in the slope of the melting curve due to molecular disassociation and proton diffusion in the solid, prior to melting, which is typically referred to as a superionic solid phase.

"The sharp increase in the melting curves slope opens up the possibility that water exists as a solid in the deep interior of planets such as Neptune, Uranus and Earth," Schwegler said.

Determining the melting curve of water is important to many fields of science, including physics, chemistry and planetary science.It has been proposed that the cold subduction zones in Earth are likely to intersect with the high-pressure melting curve of water, which would have profound implications for the composition and transport of materials in the interior as well as the long-term evolution of the planet as it cools.

The new research pinpoints the melting curve at extremely high pressures (350,000 to 450,000 atmospheres of pressure), similar to those found in the interiors Neptune, Uranus and Earth.At higher pressures, the team found that the onset of molecular dissociation and proton diffusion under pressure occurs gradually and bears many similarities to a type-II superionic solid, such as lead fluoride.

"To accurately determine the melting temperature of water, we used a two-phase simulation method that is designed to avoid the large super-heating and cooling effects that are often present in single-phase heat-until-it-melts or squeeze-until-it-freezes approaches," Schwegler said.

The research team also includes former LLNL scientists (now at UC Davis) Francois Gygi and Giulia Galli and UC Davis researcher Manu Sharma. The article appears in the Sept. 22 online edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.

I am not going to make predictions about what will happen in 2023 onwards, though that would be fun. But I do think that Pluto in Aquarius is an interesting topic. Here is my take on Pluto in Aquarius.

Elizabeth I, Queen of England had Pluto in Aquarius placed in the 1st house. This person was a writer and a poet, as well as a monarch and symbol of sovereignty. She embodied Pluto in the first house, by maintaining power. But that power was not solely hers, it was of course, in Aquarian style shared. Elizabeth was no dictator, she presided and encouraged her country to begin an era of cultural experimentation, of scientific advancement and rewarded her subjects for their ultimate voyages of discovery. Elizabeth was also known as the "Virgin Queen," she did not marry and was a Virgo Sun, Virgo is the sign of duty and this fits with her sacrificing her love life for her country. But the 1st house is the house which is most associated with a person, which makes someone who they are more than any other planetary placement. Scorpio is on the tenth house cusp, and therefore Pluto disposits that highest honour and esteem into the first through Pluto in Aquarius.

Aquarius is a sign which is often alone, yet wants, society. So it is befitting that Elizabeth patronised the likes of William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, Ben Jonson, Francis Drake, Francis Bacon, Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Humphrey Gilbert. She rewarded people who were cultural creators, poets, play writers, adventurers, pirates, explorers and colonisers of "new worlds." These people were all doing something to expand the English National consciousness, they were contributing to the construction of a society, which was not totally reliant on singular religious codes, but dialogic, offering rebellion, change, intellectual freedom, freedom to roam, while still maintaining itself as a power to which all paid respect.

Simon Bolivar, was accredited with being one of the leaders of the liberation of South America from the yoke of Spanish Empire. This man was a Freemason, and a leader of armies. He was a fighter and he had Pluto placed in natal 11th house in Aquarius, with Scorpio ruling the eighth. He was instrumental in the transferral of collective resources from an empire, to independence. Something that he does have in common with Elizabeth and it is just a curiosity is that he was a widower who's wife died early on, and who never remarried. In essence he was alone for most of his life. Even with the Sun in Leo in the 5th house and with Neptune in Libra in the 7th.

Pluto in Aquarius is about changing a system, and a society. People who have this placement are motivated by seeing themselves outside, or above the current system and are inclined to alter it, in order to change human social interactions, not just locally but on a national and international scale.

Den variant som hon låtit tatuera in betyder enligt henne "en fri själ". Och visst är det betydligt snyggare än någon eländig EAN-kod som den stackars bruden (spelad av Jessica Alba) i TV-serien Dark Angel fått intatuerat i nacken på Manticore? Eller hur? :)

I am not going to go into how the aspect is calculated, or how it compared to different types of calculations. I believe that these are all possible, but basically amount to the same thing. Basically calculating the degrees of latitude allows you to view planets placed on line X. Whereas the vast majority of the study depends solely on line Y, calculating line X allows you the third dimension. It is that simple.

In the past the Antiscion was used. Some people still use this. Some people use it and are unaware of how or why they use it, of the reasons behind its tabulation. It was created to delineate a rough line of latitude. Latitude which the Sun follows and which the planets follow in relation to the Sun as they are roughly on the same disk shaped eliptical path around the Sun. The Antiscia are an old fashioned latitude calculator, and used today for no other reason than that this was the tool for which parallels were most easily seen in pre-computer days. Antiscia are simply a crude parallel calculator, they gave approximation of latitude through the solstice point, but with a rather large degree of error. Today however, the declinations are easily known, but not easily illustrated, not in relation to the longitude, without a three dimensional chart. Now that would be something.

Here is the secret then. The Parallel and Contraparallel aspects by their nature, allow two points which are not linked through elemental basis to be linked together, to be merged, to be combined in signs and degrees which are totally random as compared with longitudinal astrology. That is the core of it. This is the big secret.

But that is not all. The Parallel and Contraparallel are the pinpointers. These are the things that give you real things which actually happen, whether or not other longitudinal aspects are in operation.  Many times a conjunction occurs, an aspect of great importance, an opposition, or a square, but nothing apparent really takes place.

The way Astrology works is that the Stars make their rays felt on Earth. This is fine. This is why planetary placements work so well. This is why temperament, why house dispositors work. The Stars send down their qualities, their gifts and special talents, as well as their doubts and atrocities. But the aspects are not complete. This is what is greatly lacking in the vast majority of readings. The simple fact that Y by longitude is located and aligned with the zodiac, while X is totally ignored. Well X is the degree of latitude.

Parallels are more important than longitudinal aspects. This is the great and rigidly kept secret of astrology. Astrologers don't want to share it because it is that tough little nut to crack, that little aspect which is the back door entrance to the third dimension. This is the aspect that lets you see in colour while all the other astrologers are still seeing in black and white.

If you have read as far as here, then you know what a parallel is, and you don't need me to go into any more detail because you have done your own research on the subject, and you understand the importance of such aspects. Instead of giving examples though of its use, of its application I would like to give a definition, terminology which is distinctive and which befits the parallel and contra parallel in comparison with its longitudinal counterparts.

The Parallal: Harmonious aspect. This aspect is as strong as a conjunction on its own without the need for any longitudinal coinciding aspect. If the aspect is exact it should be considered as an exact conjunction is considered, if not more powerful. The reason for its power lies in the fact that its power can be felt even when there is no elemental connection between the signs. This amounts to a latitudinal alignment in the sky, and like a longitudinal alignment must be considered as its exact equal in strength and power.

The Contraparallel: This is an extremely potent force, more so than the opposition, it must be read as an extremely strong force, which does not have to be antagonistic, it does not have to be strained like the square, but it must be thought of like the Parallel in terms of materialisation of reality.

The latitude of planets are as important as the longitude. It is no secret, it is just something that an astrologer must work out before really seeing what is there. Looking at a chart and then looking at it through latitude is like looking at a body and then looking at it through X-Rays. Latitude must be considered in relation to all of the planets and all of the major points including the Ascendant-Descendant axis and the MC-IC axis as well, since these also are calculated using both longitude and latitude.

The Winter Solstice is the split second in the year in which the Sun is at its greatest angular distance from the Equatorial plane from the observer. This occurs at Midday when the sun is at its lowest point in the Sky over the course of the year.

Zero degrees of Capricorn, marks this point. It occurs between the 20th and 23rd of December in the Northern hemisphere. The Winter Solstice has for millennia been associated with a very sacred, special period of time. From Stonehenge to the Pyramids, to Christ's birth, which most Historians claim was not really on the 24th December, this astronomical event has been imbued with importance.

The Antiscia are the degrees of the Zodiac Year which correspond on either side of the Winter Solstice beginning at 00 degrees of Capricorn. How do they work? Why are they important? If you notice that a beautiful spring day in April can sometimes look and feel exactly the same as a beautiful day in October, or at least that there are the same number of daylight hours and night time hours you have the beginning of an explanation. There is a seasonal significance to the Antiscia, being that days in late spring can be very similar to days of early Summer, with early spring having similarities with late summer at least by the amount of daylight that there is due to the Sun's rising and setting positions through the year.

The real significance of Antiscia though comes from its relation to that winter solstice. The Solstice is a magical point in time, the turning point in the year, and it should be considered as the real new year if you go by the Astronomical significance of it. So for an example: 15 degrees of Pisces and Libra are Antiscia to each other. They are both an equal distance away from the Winter Solstice which would be 75 degrees. They have the same number of hours of daylight, because the Sun at these point rises the same time and sets the same time. The Sun during the day reaches the same degree in the sky and the Midheaven is at the same distance from the equator. The only difference is that one side is increasing in light and the other is decreasing.

In the Night Sky of the Winter Solstice, as seen from a northern sky, the three stars in Orion's Belt align with the brightest star in the eastern sky Sirius to show where the Sun will rise in the morning after winter solstice. At about three BC it is said that "three wise men" or "three Kings" came from the East following a "bright star" to witness the "Son of God" being born. It is interesting that to this day this birth is celebrated year after year coinciding with the Winter Solstice, the place where the Sun was traditionally thought to be "re-born" each year.

To think of the immense meaning and significance not just in terms of the mathematical astronomical point, but of what it means on a spiritual level, then the Antiscia connecting through the Winter Solstice must has an astrological significance too and it is not surprising that there are tables which delineate their positions.

How do you go about interpreting Anticia though? It is clear that even though many separate cultures around the world throughout history and pre-history did not have any cultural cross pollination, they still honoured the Winter Solstice. Take Amaterasu, the Japanese Sun-Goddess, bringing Sunlight back to the universe on this day, Beiwe of the Scandinavian Saami people, Chaomos ancient Pakistan, and then Natalis Domini of 4th Century Rome. All of these sacred traditions are connected together by re-birth of the Sun, by renewal of hope for the coming year, and all celebrated and honoured at the same time.

It would be obvious that any point that was close enough to the actual Winter Solstice point would be both conjunct itself and in Anticia. So two planets or points both placed within a degree of 00 Capricorn would be conjunct and in Anticia. The interpretation of points and planets must therefore be linked in with that Solar Renewal. It is often described that planets or points placed at 00 degrees of Cardinal signs are "Aries Point", but if we take the Winter Solstice for its true Astrological and Astronomical significance, that point ought to be renamed the "Capricorn Point."

Planets or Points that are Antiscia with each other are connected by the most sacred timing in relation to the Capricorn Point, in relation to the Winter Solstice. The interpretation of Antiscia, are that they mirror each other, they aspect each other through being symmetrically equidistant.

Having explained Antiscia though, I believe that these points are only connected by the Solar Year and only in relation to those Solstice points. They work like a mirror, but to get a truer picture it may be more useful to consider the parallel aspects. Anticia are based on Solar Longitude, they correspond roughly to the Solar Latitude throughout the year. But since the planets do not pass exactly along the elliptical plane, looking up parallel and contraparallel aspects are definitely a more accurate three dimensional representation, a more complicated calculation, sure, but with technology these aspects are easily seen and analysed.

...och jag hade åter tappat kontakten ett tag. Men härom dagen mailade hon mig. Hon hade spårat upp farsgubben via Eniro och hade utan framgång försökt nå mig på gamla mobilnumret. Vi är båda lite slarviga med att datera upp vår omgivning när vi byter nummer. I alla fall jag. :)

Nåja, nu är som sagt kontakten återknuten och hon berättade att den signifikanta Uranustransit hon haft över sin Sol i födelsehoroskopet (sker typ en gång i livet, eftersom Uranus tar ett år på sig att fullborda ett varv i zodiaken) hade resulterat i att hon brutit upp från västkustmetropolen och flyttat 8 mil inåt i landet till den västergötländska glasbruksorten Fåglavik istället. Hon och hela familjen stormtrivs där, tycks det. Hon ville att jag skulle komma och besöka dem och det vill jag gärna göra. När ekonomin och tiden är lämpliga, får jag väl försöka ta mig dit och spana in stället. Dessutom står sedan länge två av Jessicas halvsyskon från min andra kull på besökslistan. De bor i Säter i södra Dalarna. Där har jag vuxit upp.

Pluto's ingress into Capricorn will bring a sigh of relief to the people and places ruled by Sagittarius. In Capricorn the energy will be low key, it will be sober, cool headed, there will be a cool breeze blowing in from the North. I am not going to digress into what happened "the last time Pluto was in Capricorn", the world is simply too different to how it was 246 years ago to make a statement concerning this planet-sign combination.

Much of what has written about Capricorn depicts falling empires, and rising nations, and this is one thing that should be of interest to most people. The only real prediction that I am willing to make about the planetary placement with absolute certainty and commitment, is this: Countries all across the world will be prepared to either merge with each other or separate even more so. The European Union is daily intergrating itself more and more possibly in preparation for that final act of Unification. While in other parts of the world separatist regions are trying to break away from the yoke of power, Central Asia is one example of this, but South America and Africa have examples of cities that are beginning to protest their political autonomy from centralised and often tyrannical authority.

The United Kingdom has recently under the ray of Sagittarian Pluto undergone a partial dismemberment, all completely voluntary, though still as a Union holds on tenaciously to its strategic Imperial territories like Gibraltar and The Falklands. Whether the UK will be "assimilated" into the European Union or whether it takes on a different partisan role is irrelevant. Both England and the UK are strongly Capricorn and will be on the offensive in the world at large, leading the world as that nation has done in centuries past. Resurrect the British Empire? It may not be possible, but there will definitely be a desire to create, to build a civilisation, an all-powerful civilisation based on order over chaos, of duty, responsibility and people working hard for achieving stability.

That stability of course is not going to happen for this poor Capricorn Pluto transit. The incoming T-square of Uranus and Jupiter mixed in opposition to Saturn and Mars will bring about turmoil in very short time. It is hard to pinpoint exactly where the cards will fall, but this transit denotes a most unstable Capricorn power structure for a period of 7 years at least.

The massive trauma which occurred during Pluto's transit of Cancer must not be ignored, war and destruction was occurring during this period. But it is possible that responsible old Capricorn will not let things get out of hand too much. Pluto in Capricorn is extremely down to earth, and will definitely bring people closer to the land in which they live.

               Precocious children have been known to tell their parents, “you’re not the boss of me,” but individuals with Uranus in the career houses of the astrology chart may adopt this as a life-long motto. Some wear it on greasy tee shirts along with other rude sayings, while others deign to wear suits but carry the attitude around in their pockets, ready to whip it out at any challenge.

                Brighter than most people around them, typical Uranians easily grow bored and restless, and unless new challenges constantly present themselves, they can create an uproar in the workplace for the sheer excitement of it. Many of them gain the reputation of being mavericks who are unpredictable, erratic, or difficult. Because they’re almost impelled to speak out about things that are wrong, they’re often seen as troublemakers. They question authority and object—none too tactfully—when standard operating procedures on the job are irrational, inequitable, or unjust.

Uranians can have a superiority complex—sometimes even a justified one—but those who cross the line into arrogance are likely to create friction with bosses and coworkers. They inherently feel the rules don’t apply to them, for after all they’re special. Surprisingly often, they get away with it, for they appeal to our too-frequently-suppressed Inner Outlaw, and we live vicariously through their escapades.

 Uranians’ resumes tend to be full of mysterious gaps that give job interviewers the willies, and their references tend to be friends or colleagues rather than past employers. They tend to change jobs frequently and suddenly, particularly when bosses clamp down on them.

  Transiting Uranus is often the impetus for their vocational shifts, for it increases the restlessness and the need to adhere to their own authority rather than rather than former supervisors. However, they’re seldom jobless for long unless they want to be, because they’re usually so bright at what they do that they dazzle potential employers into ignoring the personnel officer’s “red flags” of warning. (They’re also inventive enough to come up with plausible reasons for their spotty job history.)

 Over time, they tend to change careers as well, when they no longer find their old field challenging enough or when technology evolves in interesting new directions. They get bored with what they’re doing and move on. Alternately, the trend changes and their fifteen minutes of fame are up, and they’re back on the path of exploration and experimentation that characterizes their work life.

             Who are the Uranians? They’re people who have Uranus or the sign Aquarius strong in their birth charts, especially with strong aspects from Uranus to the Sun, Moon, Ascendant or Midheaven or 8° either side of the Ascendant, Midheaven, IC, or Descendant. These factors are stronger if Uranus aspects a number of the personal planets or is in a major configuration like a t-square or grand trine, or if there is a stellium of three or more planets in the sign Aquarius. Such combinations make them Uranian in nature, but might primarily affect their personal lives. (If you’re new to astrology and don’t understand the technical parts but identify with what has been said so far, chances are you’re Uranian.)

 For a direct impact on vocational potential, these placements would generally need to be in the 10^th, 2^nd, or 6^th houses or conjunct, square, opposite, or trine the Midheaven and would also need to be prominent in some of the ways mentioned above. If the chart has only Aquarius on the Midheaven or on the cusp of the 2^nd or 6^th houses but none of the factors mentioned above, the individual may not fit the picture I am describing. The likelihood of a match increases with the number of these factors in the chart.

Have you been absolutely exhausted recently and can't figure out why?  Extra sleep and vitamins aren't cutting it?

I've been that way for a couple of weeks, and I've cheerfully  blamed the guy I'm seeing because he's been exhausted, too.  But my Shannon called from college and has also been exhausted, regardless of the luxury of enough sleep.  And then yesterday, I heard from several different highly spiritual friends who are exhausted to the point of being suicidal...and all working through massive spiritual issues.  And that IS the one thing we all have in common right now, this huge spiritual cleansing and its deep karmic intensity.

We've wondered if it's the economy or the astrological issues of Saturn opposite Uranus or just plain bad energies around us, but everyone I know experiencing this kind of exhaustion is going through intense karmic resolutions, or attempts at resolutions.

Often, my body will reflect what's going on with me spiritually, and if I'm not taking care of something, it'll force me to deal with it.  I didn't realize that until I woke this morning after sleeping 12 hours, was too tired to move, and went back to bed for another 7 hours.   I was being forced to confront some old spiritual issues in the Dreamtime, and my friends, that is exhausting work.  I liken it to being 3 months pregnant and exhausted because though no one else can see it, your body is doing the equivalent of mountain climing on the inside.  Recently, I've been scaling some peaks!

If you've read my books or followed my journals for a while, you know that I have "dreams" of different textures, including prophetic, metaphoric, and what's more like what my shaman friends call journeying where I connect with other people.  I also visit people in certain houses, stores, or other structures that are representative of their metaphysical structure.  Mine isn't just a house but most of my family farm back in Georgia.  My ex's is a huge mansion with a facade on the front and his mom wandering around the basement (seriously).  The Treat's is a small, eclectic cottage with a private bedroom and living area in back and a busy medical practice in the front of the house.  A former friend's is an old house with a terrifying torture-scene basement and lots of spiral staircases that lead to even spookier places...and I first visited when we were friends!  Okay, you get the idea.

Because I am seeing so many of us going through this spiritual clearing and subsequent exhaustion, I will share how this works for me, even if it's something I outwardly have no control over.  I will omit certain things, also, that are too close to the bone to share.

This dreaming that set in this morning was sporadic at first, then settled into an intense series of insights and confrontations. In one of the earlier scenes, I was enjoying time in a small cottage somewhere else, enjoying my daughters and sharing the homey landscape with Scorpio.  It was peaceful and pleasant, and there was much open sharing.  I'm inclined to think that this was Scorpio's metaphysical home rather than one from my own past because it was small with other homes nearby, like a suburb, but still a feel of nature to it. 

Then later the girls and I were at this huge storage barn, looking at rooms and rooms of copper tools and "rich" furniture, piano, antiques--but no life there and no rich homelife there to match.  The barn's caretaker asked what I'd done with all these material possessions, and we explained that we'd never seen them.  The caretaker was confused because she was showing what had been given to me years ago and didn't understand why I'd never been told about these or taken possession, but they had not been passed along to me.  They'd been taken from this warehouse where they waited for me.  I accepted that they had been stolen from me and found myself more focused on their beauty than their ownership.  There was not a sense of holding onto them--rather surprise that they'd ever been mine and an ease of letting them go.  If anything, I was more concerned that they were my children's legacy and were now gone.  But this was entirely about material things associated with my former life and marriage, and the caretaker even showed me a designer-decorated series of bathroom stalls--or how they used to be, as this was almost a Ghost of Christmas Past kind of viewing--that no longer have that designer look but that I've remade into my own.  This part of the dreaming was about how I've rewritten my surroundings since my divorce, and a view of how it used to be.

The next part of the dreaming became much more intense as I began to revisit places in previous dreamings.  I walked through a back door and onto a huge stage, just before the curtain went up.  This was a big production, one with many singers, dancers, and actors who had been preparing for a long time and following a script.  It was some sort of musical production about 12-step programs, but I didn't know that at the time.  It was all about going through the steps of clearing out shadows and showing other people how. The problem was, the leading lady  was missing or gone and the curtain was rising.  The leading man grabbed my hand and asked me to take her place, but I said no initially.  I'm absolutely NOT a dancer and not a vocal performer.  I will enthusiastically direct such a production, but I'm orchestrating from behind the scenes and not the star of the show.  I realize I'm putting myself more in "star" positions, which has never been comfortable, but in the dreaming, I suddenly had a willing partner, who was truly a partner in this adventure, and very encouraging.  He didn't look exactly like Scorpio, not all the time, but he was definitely a facet, and there was an awkward but happy alliance that reminded me of Scorpio's hosting a gathering with me last Sunday night. 

So the curtain went up, and everyone else knew their lines and movements, and I had to follow attentively and improvise where I could.  Me, the non-dancer/singer.  Scorpio made it easy, at least with the difficult dance steps and singing along, and he was easy to follow and easy to share with and accepted my lead when those times came, too.  Much of the show, the spotlight was on us, dancing and singing.  I felt lost a little bit, but the audience and other performers were cheering and everything we did on stage seemed to be appreciated and right for the audience. 

The scary part came when the dance became more difficult, and I was on the wrong side of the stage but Scorpio and I played it off as natural, to the cheers of others.  Then the music stopped and he quoted from the script.  The problem was, I didn't know the script.  Of course not--I usually don't follow a script, do I?  So I improvised.  The rest of the show was the two of us improvising, which meant it didn't follow the expected pattern but the results were wonderful.

Afterward, I went into a classroom where there were other spiritual students.  I put a ton of books and notes on the table in front of me and pulled up a chair.  The workshop instructor was an old teacher of mine, whom I still respected.  We have not gotten along in recent years, but I respected his work quite a lot, enough to attend his class to see what else I might learn.  He's been in my waking thoughts much recently because something he told me long ago has come to pass, and the specific odd thing he told me was evidence that his prophecy has come to pass happened last weekend.  I was there reverently and looking to learn more.

Instead, my old teacher spotted me and singled me out in front of the other classmates.  He heavily criticized my performance on stage because I had not delivered the "correct" lines and had therefore missed some elements of the 12-step program I was supposed to be teaching  (this was when I first knew what I was "supposed" to be teaching).  Other classmates, including Scorpio, defended me, explaining that no one had shown me a script and I'd filled in with less than 5 minutes' notice, but my old teacher would have none of it.  Rather than continue to be denigrated, I took my books and learning materials and left his class so he could continue his workshop and I could continue my journey. 

He and other old teachers caught up with me outside, cornered me, and told me how I couldn't just walk away when they were lecturing me.  This turned into a major confrontation where I understood and appreciated all the good things they'd taught long ago, but I was my own person now, powerful in my own right, and even if their old prophecies came true only now, they held no power over me.  Just because they could see the prophecy did not mean they were the ones who sent it to me.  It was a clearing, freeing moment for me, and I turned and walked forward without them. 

For the rest of the dreaming, I walked through structures I've visited in dreams with others, lots of people from my past.  For the past week, I've been undertaking a huge clearing of something (someone) and it's been tremendously exhausting to cut all those ties and be down with it, finally.  Some of these places had restaurants, New Age shops, yoga shops, theatres, Carribbean islands, Buddhist temples, and secret doors to Chinese laundries.   I walked into a structure that was once a restaurant where The Treat and I dined and had many wonderful conversations in the Dreaming.  I had a tough time with my bearings because the restaurants were empty, no longer places to dine or talk, and nothing of what they'd once been.  These places with him were empty now, nothing left but the occasional painting or design on the walls.  Everything else bare and gone.  There was not a feeling of emptiness for me but rather, just the acknowledgement that there was nothing there anymore but memories.  No emotions more than a slight sadness for what might have been.

Old friends came and went through these structures, and there was really nothing but a passing hello and goodbye.  After all, I've seen them more in these dreamings than in the waking world, and the connections in both are faint to non-existent.  I found Scorpio in some of these structures, an over-worked cook, in a stressed facet of himself, needing nurturing and solace.  I vowed to give him more of that and less of my own worries about this clearing I'm doing or the future.  He'd been the supportive one while I was onstage and out of my natural element, and now I want to return that favor.

I walked with my mother here, too, and took her to the Carribbean island that was inside one of these rooms.  I pointed out the sunset, the beautiful sky and the color of the water.   I explained that this was the place I used to see as my marriage and my life.  She oohed and ahhed at its beauty, and so did I.  We chose to walk across the tropical and beautiful landscape to the water and dip our toes, but this place was not as I remembered.  It was all artificial.  Pretty but artificial.  The same place I've walked with other romantic partners.  The flowers were hard plastic, some silk, none real.  And the shimmering waves of water were an illusion of light against a painted wall.  I was always willing to see the beauty in this place but there was nothing it gave back to me but an illusion I was willing to live with because the lie was easier than looking at plastic plants.

I woke to a text message from Scorpio, wishing me a wonderful day.  And then I went out and put my feet in green, fresh, living grass and smelled the flowers in my garden, bees and all.
